I started back after a 2 year absent. Wanted to start anew so I made an assasin. Got him to level 18 then got bored as I'm trying to betray from Darklight woods to Freeport I cannot even solo 2 greys fighting each other in the ampitheatre in EF. Since then I've made a few other toons I've been really happy with. Is it going to get better because I so solo 98% of the time or should I reroll to something like a Ranger, Swashy etc...

Niipailo

(( Ill admit, assassin was a real challenging class to learn how to play. Before you get your big stealth attack at level 24, it can be very very hard to figure out what to do.First and foremost you have to learn to Stun, then jump behind your opponent to land some back-attacks.Lay down your DOTS (damage over time, like bleeding damage, wounds, etc) FIRST.Those will do additional cumulative damage throughout the fight, so lay them down first. Then stun, jump behind, cut-throat (will make your enemies not able to use combat-arts against you).. etc etc.Dont forget your surveil/spy type stealth that will also put you in stealth ready for another big hit.(Again, keep in mind, until level 24, you can expect to be confused as to how to play effectively. At level 24, pick 'Assassins blade' as your master II choice, and you'll suddenly realise what being an assassin is all about. Those big spikes of damage. Also grab a good bow and poisons, and try 'bow-kiting' the tough mobs by snaring them, then walking backwards and shooting arrows, making sure they cant hit you. Once in a while, run in with a stun and land a stealth attack, then back out again for more bow-kiting.(Note: the above tactics are mainly intended for low level assassins. Once you get Concealment and higher level abilities, things get much easier and you'll find yourself having a more fun time.Assassins are a blast, they are all or nothing. If you dont get the drop on your enemy, youll get dropped yourself Stealth is a must for maximum damage!

One thing you may wanna know is 2 mobs fighting each others will always con grey...even if they are lvl 80 so may not be a good way to test your ability to solo...Apart from that assassins are pretty good soloers but like most classes you can't start to get a feeling of what the class will become until you get to higher lvls.

I found the assassin frustrating as well. My main up to that point was a paladin, and his survivability while soloing... the heal... made me lazy.Single targets are easy, groups I found hard because a lot of our dps comes from behind and invis.Things I found: Use your bow on pulls, if you use the side/back attack and follow up with the multiple hit arrow attack, the mob is often half dead before it gets to you. Drop your dots, use your 7 second stun and draw the second mob away, where you can snare and hit him from behind.

Currently the assassin classes comunity is one of the few that is content with the state of their class. It is true assassins are not the best soloers, in fact i would say one of the worst due to most of the classes DPS comes from behind the mob, and while soloing you are looking the mob in the eyes.

Trust me when I say this you will enjoy it at the higher lvls.

As for soloing I would recomend getting point blank shot and couple it with cheap shot. Having two different stunns will help a lot, also learn to root and back up for a few bow auto attacks, a good bow shot will know loads of HP off a mob.
