I have frequently CTDs and bad lagspikes since GU46. Before I crashed very rarely but now up to 3 or 4 times per day (outside of raids while soloing). Have asked other players and they say too that the game doesn't run as smooth as before the last GU. Please take a look, devs.

We noticed the same thing. The lag is worse since the last big patch, and especially noticeable when tradeskilling but even when we are fighting we get consistent and long lag spikes. It's unusual for or systems.

I've been getting an impaired experience recently too. Failures to render the world, resulting in me staring at empty space while it condascends to appear. Was also getting dumped to char' select occasionally too.

I just shrug and carry on until I get annoyed then log off. It's a system that works for me.

I've been getting similar lag problems as to what you've all described. It's also a little random - the game can be fine for a bit of time and then all of a sudden, lag-spike. Being grouped can make it worse, depending on the dungeon I'm in.My gf finds that when she camps and then logs on again in South Freeport, she generally falls through the world and appears back at the bells on the docks. This happens around every second logon or so. Thankfully, it doesn't count as a death.I can confirm also that these problems have occurred since GU46 went live.

Glad it's not just me. I get lag spikes at the start of a combat encounter. Sometimes they last longer than the fights. When the spike ends, it's revive time for me.

I had BAAAAD lag yesterday (Sunday the 29th). I figured it was because there were a lot of people logged into the game for the Faire and for the bonus XP weekend. I ended up having to knock my graphics down to "High Performance" to run somewhat smoothly. I usually run on "high quality" with shadows turned off and textures turned down to medium.

The worst was when I was crafting in North Qeynos. Horrible lag. Again, I just attributed it to lots of people being on. /shrug

If your have connection issues with "lag" spikes you may want to run a tracert and path ping when it is a good connection and again when it is bad and post the results here.Open up the Start menu, choose the Run command, type "command" in the space provided, then hit Enter. If you're using Win2k type "cmd" instead of command. For Vista, "type command" at the search bar on the bottom of the Start Menu. The MS-DOS Prompt window should appear with the prompt, "C:windowsdesktop". For Win98/ME or Win2K/XP/Vista, type the following three DOS commands, one at a time, hitting Enter between each command, and waiting for the prompt to reappear:ipconfig /all > c:eq2info.txttracert unrest.everquest2.com >> c:eq2info.txtpathping unrest.everquest2.com >> c:eq2info.txt(This may take a few minutes to complete)Finally, upon completion of these commands, you will find a file labeled "eq2info.txt" on the root level of your C: drive. You can use the Find command from the Start menu to locate it. Open the newly generated file (c:eq2info.txt) and copy and paste the information here.

This is a problem that began with GU46 and is either an SOE server problem or, more likely, something that hosed the client in the last GU. Please let us know if someone at SOE has identified the cause and we'll be getting a hotfix, or if it is time to /ragequit this buggy crap. Okay?

Stop being a moronic fanboi. I'm not crashing to the desktop, I'm getting game lag. Please learn to read and write engrish, emmkay? I've been monitoring my connection closely, and I'm not getting any internet lag. At all. Server ping time is also fine. Which confirms for me that this is a client side bug introduced with GU46. (No surprises there.) What was introduced in this GU, that was probably supposed to either optimize something or enhanced some crap like G15 support, but instead is causing client lag?

Okay?
Your lucky lag is all your getting , This game ran perfectly for me until GU 40 but since then its been a series of problems. The first time I logged in after ROK I got my first crash with a fatal error , over 7 months later still no solution . I have tried different drivers , settings etc and nothing does any good I am convinced there are problems with the client and they have become worse with GU 46 . For me this has always been the best running game , now this is no longer true .

At this point I've tried toggling everything imaginable both in-game and in the nVidia control panel trying to track down what it is. I'm thinking that they are tweaking something in an attempt to compensate for the lack of GPU utilization but haven't told us what they're doing or which GPUs will be effected. The game at this point is all but unplayable since I never know which combat encounters the lag will strike on. The sound looping while it lags is the only entertaining part of it.

Same problems here, it seemed to start around the same time the camera angle was changed on the griffs. I have noticed the framerate will stay above 30, ping is around 156, no packet loss., yet if I swing the camera around my character's head seems to have a twitch. I also get the same twitch as I am approaching the griff tower, the game world is stable, but the objects like the tower seem to be twitching. Some call it lag, but I wasnt extremely laggy this weekend, just a twitch here and there, and every once in a while the game was hitching/hiccuping/ w/e its called.

Heroic opportunity graphics,my game will freeze for about 5-6 seconds, 7 out of 10 times it fires the double bolt if my camera is a few meters behind my toon. I havent check my graphic settings to see if one of the crashes may have reset something.

Crashes, out of memory 4 times Sat, and 5 times yesterday. Worse in TD around green overlook, and neriak... just pick a spot. Think around the bridges are the worst area, I also noticed that most of the times I crash out of memory is when I am on a fae/arasi with a runspeed buff going such as Sow.

Now the game had been running fine for awhile on a new system, I was very impressed with the graphics and how smooth everything seemed to be. Now something has changed and I am no better off than I was before the upgrade.

Chat boxes are still borked, after a bit they seem to scroll up till the new text is being displayed somewhere above the veiwable portion of the chatbox. Also, cutting off spam messages in an extra chatbox I use for channel chat should not turn of normal messages like events, completeing quest etc.. in my main chat.

I went to SS and killed a few mobs and suddenly I crashed to desktop with a fatal error . There was a major problem during that same week with zones either not loading or taking more than 20 minutes to load , the forum was full of messages from people who couldnt get maps to load. I went through Qeynos and the walls and buildings were not rendered , they were nothing more than a white cage outline of the graphic , a shell . Since then , over 7 months later I am still getting crashes , hitching , sometimes the skill animations are nothing more than a white outline that looks like a cage because it hasnt completely rendered. I can so much as turn the camera and the game freezes , if a mob speaks while I`m attacking it the game will freeze for a second , I ve been in groups where some of the people cant be seen and some can , had invisible mobs attacking me also that are suppose to be visible. how about " you have fallen through the world " message or landing on a griff tower that is invisible , coming to a stable where the npc is missing but everything else is there. Before GU 40 I had no problems with the game , since then I have tried 3 different versions of nvidia drivers , tried different gfx settings in the nvidia control panel , tried different settings in the game options I have plenty of memory . page file , nothing taxing my start up , no anti virus running , I have a fast Internet connection , no packet loss , I defrag when necessary , theres plenty of free space on my HD , and all of my hardware is running fine etc etc . If I had changed anything on my end since the last big expansion (ROK) then I would be inclined to attempt to isolate this to being a system side issue , however since the thing that changed was the client and not my system I have to believe that the upgrades have created a certain degree of incompatibility . Even so I still made every attempt to run through the typical system side checklist with no progress whatsoever. All of a sudden this game client has become a pig to run and I`m afraid that the upgrades are creating the need for an upgrade in processor as well as video card.
