I did it, I did it I did it!

Now that that is out of the way let me explain what I did. After 3 weeks of wracking my brains, the tech's brains, the forum's brains, and everyone I know's brains I was not able to get past that stupid bug that stops me from logging in for some reason. SO, search and search and search I did on my router/modem combo my POS isp has stuck me with.

The Netgear CG814wg v2 has been mass produced and sent out for many ISPs. What these ISP's do not tell you is how to get into ALL of the router's configuration files. So here goes.

Step 1: Go to 192.168.0.1 in a web browser.

Step 2: At the log in prompt use the following. Username = SUPERUSER Password = your default one of, password or whatever you may have changed it too.

DO not use the ADMIN user name as you will not be given complete access to the modem/routers configurations.

Step 3: Under the Content Filtering (which is completely absent when logged in as Admin) choices on the left sidebar choose Services.

Step 4: Firewall Features will most likely be selected. Deselect it and click Apply at the bottom.

Step 5: Disconnect the power from your modem/router after you log out and after 10 seconds plug it back in.

Step 6: Rejoice that you can now play whatever game your stupid [Removed for Content] modem was keeping you from enjoying!

Thanks for being so patient and working with me for so long on this Trevor, you and all teh tech support are top notch in my book. It took me going through alot of forums to find this fix. I checked every tech geek forum on the web I think and finally located the info.

Stupid username was the only issue.

Hordicant,

Where did you find the password information for the Superuser id? I can get into Admin fine and even changed the password on the Admin website but still no luck.

If you are using the same modem/router as me then use the default.

superuser - all lower case qand then your default password, which for this model is 'password' no quotations. If that doesn't work, try the one you changed it to.
