Sound crackling, popping and skipping

This is the only game I get sound issues with. I also play Hellgate London and a few other mmorpg games and the sound is fine. When in EQ2 the sound skips and pops and crackles. Any idea to what the heck is going on? I t worked fine on Tuesday I get back from vacation today and login to this sound bug. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank uou in advance.

What sound card do you have installed?Have you checked your audio settings in game? Maybe moving from Miles or EAX to another setting would cause some beneficial changes.
