Hey, all.

Haven't played the game in quite a bit now. Was curious about how SKs are fairing in game now as tanks, etc. Last I played we had some issues so now I'm just wondering how the class is going now.

Thanks.

Well there are numerous post on this, but here is the way I see the class at this time.

lower levels, alot of fun and a strong solo class, up to teir 7 does well in the solo department.

Tier 8 our solo abilities start going down due to mob have a lot more hps and do ALOT more damage. We can solo effiecently, but we are no longer a top tier solo class.

Tanking, we are hurting, we always where behind the other tank classes in survivabiltiy, but we where for tier six and seven doing pretty nice dps for a tank class, behind beserkers, but a head of Guardians and Pallys.

Tier 8 has almost killed the class as a tank, we have poor agro, sub-par dps (we are fifth our of six tank classes), and poor hps. Still is a fun class and is challenging but we need some upgrades in dps (BIG TIME) and some better survival tools.

Won't even mention raiding!

If you want a fun class for lower levels, SK is great, if you want a class for tanking the hardest zones/Raids, we aint' it in comparison to the other tank classes.

Just my opinion, if others see it diffrently please say yours.

The SK continues to be a fun class to play, and a unique design.

Up to ROK content, the SK is decent in tanking ability, and can dish out some nice dps for a plate tank.

SK's can also group tank the ROK instances decently enough.

Once you hit ROK, however, you will notice the other plate tank classes are more powerful. SK's are dead last in main tanking, off tanking, aggro control, utility, and survivability. SK's are second last in DPS.

That's right, you heard right, a Guardian can DPS the pants off an SK in ROK content. AND they have better tanking abilities. It's not even close.

Due to the obvious imbalance issues, you may find it difficult to obtain a spot in an ROK raid. But if you just want to run group instances and complete quests, your SK should do just fine <img src="/eq2/images/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" width="15" height="15" />

The game itself has come a long way in the last year or two, and the new ROK content is a lot of fun
