Are there any problems you guys have run into when you have two Troubs in a group? I ran into this situation yesterday and I was wondering what I should be careful of when this happens again (which is likely.) I've got the lower level toon and don't want to tick the other Troub off. Please share your gripes...

Problems . . . other than the extremely low DPS of the group if two Troubs are present you mean?Seriously, two Troubs in a group is really oil and water. One of you becomes little more than a very poor DPS leeching XP off the rest of the players. There is nothing you can do about it. It applies to all buffing classes, most especially Priests and Bards. Duplicating any of those classes is just . . . pointless. It's even true of tanks . . . why would you want two Guardians? Two Fighters is bad enough, though sometimes a Brawler can pass as DPS.The game mechanics encourage diversity, and I'm ok with that.

I wouldn't call it the end of the world, but there are a few quirks to watch out for. <div></div><div>1. Most of our AA based songs will not allow more than one person to have them up at a time. DKTM is a good example for this. Say you have it up, the other Troubador joins the group (who had it up previously). Yours will drop, and his will stay up covering the group. It doesn't matter who has it up, but don't be surprised to see it go down on your end.</div><div></div><div>2. For the songs that can be played both at the same time, they do not stack with themselves. Two "Fortifying Songs" will not double the effectiveness. The one who has the higher level of the song will have their effect win, even though the bard with the lower level version will still have theirs active. </div><div></div><div>2a. I'm not quite sure about Aria of Magic though, mages might get double chance to proc but haven't run into a situation where I'd be able to test this. I'm guessing probably not, since two aria's wouldn't show up in the buff bar *shrug*</div><div></div><div>3. Our debuffs work the same way, two of the same won't stick. With the latter overriding the former. So again, just work out which ones who will throw on the mob and all will be good. </div><div></div><div>Note the stacking issues above also apply to Troubador/Dirge groups (and raids) where we share a few similar abilities (DKTM, Allegretto, Magic Rebuff, Devigorating Descant, etc.). I know for a fact the buffs work the same, I'm less sure about the debuffs. I've heard that they'll conflict, but the mob has so many debuffs on it I haven't been able to check to see what's going on. </div><div></div><div>Anywho, my best advice is split your songs down the middle and use it as a fun time to run all the "off" songs like Requiem of Reflection, Song of Magic, Arcane/Elemental Tempo and the like. It may not do a whole lot, but hey, it's something to keep the conc slots busy and it's nice to see that one in a million chance of RoR actually reflecting something <img src="/eq2/images/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY<img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />" /></div>

Does the highest level spell override the lower in most things or is it order of cast? How about PoM and Jester's Cap? I did try to use "off" buffs and AA's but I was hesitant to cast JC esp on the tank. Since we are just practicing and getting skills/xp up for raiding later on I still get the benefit of casting for skill ups, but would like to be effective at some level. I'm not group leader so it's not up to me to say who is invited or not (also don't like to pass up xp, loot and AA points when I can get them.) If they want two Troub's... OK by me, but I still want to do the best job I can. It's so much different from my usual threesome.

If JC has been on someone, they get JC immunity, and you won't be able to cast it on them.

Would it irritate you or mess up your normal sequence if someone else cast it and then you couldn't? Who would be your next best choice for target?

It's what I do when I happen to have a 2nd Troubador on a raid with me. Usually we have enough people to keep busy with caps, and only really step on each others toes when we get into a panic situation and try to cap the same healers.

I wouldn't call 2 troubs in a group a waste. Granted it depends on gear, but a troub can parse fairly high especially in groups. Just split your debuffs and JCap sequence and that leaves you both with more time to DPS
