When RoK came out, I decided to take my time leveling so I could really enjoy the new content, which resulted in the fact that yesterday was the second time I've ever done any instances in RoK (CoA and Vaults). For the first time a piece of gear dropped that I could use, and it was the Blistered Strand set that I've heard so much about, so I was very excited. I examined my brand-new boots only to find....+2 defense, +2 ordination. Wait....what? This is the mage set, right? Yup, sure is. But...it has the same amount of int that my t7 legendary set pieces does, and it has....defense and ordination? No wonder the necro turned it down.I didn't see any posts on this subject, so I just have to wonder if this is correct or if perhaps something was copied incorrectly. I haven't gotten any other pieces to look, and I know that different classes want different things on their armor...but defense for a mage? That still has me scratching my head. Any ideas?

The 5% cast haste is nice for some, but wearing 3 pieces to attain it is a waste as every slot has much better.

There are still items being shown with improper stats from months ago and those are being fixed. I just wanted to know if this was intended. Besides, the piece is new to me.

Muting fodder at best... The whole set is total garbage in my honest opinion. I think they will come out with better class specific legendary sets in the next expansion, as I can't even understand why they bothered putting them in the game for any class.

If you spent all that time doing the content, you should have run into atleast 1 - 3 quest obtained items for boot slot that are better. I recall some treasure boots from a JW quest giving 1% crit and 80 spell damage. Phanton Boots are a legendary drop that are on the broker a lot, giving +120 spell damage. If you check the class boards a lot of them have gear lists with a multiple choices for each slot, and where they come from, that might help.

*nods* I totally understand that there are better pieces out there for me I'm just wondering if this one was a mistake.

So much in fact, that I would wager it's not really worth trying to fix it retroactively except possibly for some of the higher end pieces.Heck, the Fabled Mystic Epic has +Disruption on it.I bet if they were REALLY struggling to find the FTE's to devote towards itemization of the gear for their expansions that some of the people in Beta could offer some good advice for free.

As a scout, the legendary set is better than the fabled set !! (not the VP one)

[Removed for Content] ? I have almost the whole fabled set from t1-t3 and don't even wear one single piece !

As I wore 3 legendary pieces for a while (+ 2 DA)....

Gear in rok is rather simple, it has an effect, consider if its useful, no effect, mute / vendor straight away.

second step, is your class allowed to wear it? ok, your a mage, its cloth armor so its ok.

third step, is the effect useful? what the? oh wait... it failed in step one, no effect = no equip.

You get items with effects even from solo quests, so yes, the blistered set is completly worthless. no, the set effects are not good enough to replace 7 indivdual effects.

stats dont matter too much, since we are all very deep into the dimnishing curve anyway.
