Hello troubs. I just recently started a new troub on naggy, figured I'd start out fresh from the beginning but I was curious. Being a troub and most of the dmg being done from spells do all troubs use the INT/WIS chain amor, what about jewelery as well do you all use the INT/WIS jewelery as well? As oppossed to the STR/STA/AGI jewelery and armor that most scouts use. Thanks for the advice!

Well i dont' play PVP but i'm sure the same considerations for mastercrafted gear apply. For armor use the melodic set (i think the first set starts T3) as it has STR and INT on it. I think they've even changed the recipes with the last LU so you can get a full set (previously you would only get a partial melodic set for first 2-3 tiers it was available). As for jewelry I would always mix and match the caster/ melee gear... use one STR ring and one INT ring for example ... one STR wrist and one INT wrist etc . In the past i would have chosen an INT Piece over a STR peice for neck and wrist but with the nice new mastercrafted weapons perhaps STR is better.

Traditionally 25% of damage will be from melee and 75% from spells untill you get to T8 then it starts to balance a bit more (40/60 approx)

Hey fella, I've played both trob and dirge into t4 in pvp and can offer some small advice. Your highest stat is going to be stamina, its just the way mc gear is built and pretty hard to avoid, not that its a bad thing. After that I would prioratise stats at INT, STR, AGI, WIS. I would stress not to completely disregard wisdom, spell resists are very important in pvp. These are generally better gained from items offering individul resist rates. At the moment I wouldnt bother with Melodic armour until t5, though its available in t4, it cant be inbued until t5. The imbue values are worth more than the int. I'd look at mix and matching 4 pieces of standard scout chain with 3 brig. for t3 you will still be using mostly if not all TD jewery. I'd reccomend a sabre or rapier depending on how your stats need tweaking, and a standard MC scouts shield. once you have all that your can tweak stats with hex dolls and adornments. In pvp a troubador should kite any opponent with the exception of rangers and sins. (tho swashbuckers are [Removed for Content] hard work to kite) So I'd invest in a good quality bow, get master 1's for your shrieks, stifle and snare if possible. Hope this helps

phew, I can see why people say Troubs aren't an easy class. Thanks for all the advice so far guys. I keep hearing about this amazing jewelery and armor in TD, I'm still doing the lvl 10-12 quests right now. I was going to make half str and half int MC lvl 12 jewelery because its cheap but it sounds like as long as I keep questing I'll get better armor and jewelery from the quests.

I have 4 aa right now but haven't put them into anything because I'm not sure which. I've been told sword and shield is the best way to go and have been thinking about working down my sta line first for AA's. I want to put them into my troub tree so I can work down and make my mezz last longer but I don't get that until lvl 25 or so right? So I think I'm going to to start working down the sta line instead, what do you guys think?

Thanks again for all your help!

My experience from pvp would be its alot more about being able to take a hit then to dish out the dps. That why the TD gear is considered so good. IT has high resist to magic damage a thign that is hard to find at such a low lvl. In pve unless you are solo you wont be taking that much damage in anything short of a raid enviorment and resist there mean little as well. In pvp however resist mean a great deal in your ability to survive while waiting for your control effects to refresh.
