Apparently U46 requires SP3. If you don't have SP3 installed the game will just crash on launch. It would have been nice if they told us this and designed the game to inform you of that instead of just crashing.

That is a problem. After I installed SP3, my EQ2 kept crashing until I removed SP3.

What? You're saying you CAN run EQ2 on SP2? It did nothing but crash on launch after the U46 update until I read some post in an unrelated thread and updated to SP3, then suddenly everything worked fine. If you're saying you got the exact opposite behavior, then I give up, this game is just a steaming pile of random code that behaves different depending what color shirt you're wearing that day...

If you are crasing after GU46 then there is another problem. SP3 is NOT required for EQ2 GU46.

No promised though, in this environement what may be the resolution for one connection issues may or may not work for someone else.
