Something with some DPS, for sure. ::grin::

I really like the Brawler/Shaman duo - specifically Bruiser/Defiler, although this would work in any of the combinations, I think. Any dps class with a defiler would work, but cloth wearing nuker types might be a bit more challenging to duo with than a tank or scout, IMO. I find, especially at lower levels, once wards are breached by damage - then returning the partner to health can sometimes be challenging, and mage-types don't usually have a whole lot of avoidance, they trade being able to blow things up for that. With an avoidance based tank (monk/bruiser), that is made a bit easier.

Defiler can level quite a lot faster in this combination since the brawler has plenty of dps to kill things reasonably quickly.

I've heard shadowknight mentioned as a good partner for defilers since they are both heavy on disease-based attacks which means their debuffs are complementary. I don't have a shadowknight so I can't confirm this, but defilers certainly have a lot of disease-based stuff.

I second the Bruiser/Defiler combo, my wife plays a Bruiser and we do awesome together, duoing heroics and dungeons of our level. Haven't found too much that we can't take on when prepared. were only in our 30's however. So your experience may vary.

I have duo-ed a lot with a warlock. It worked very well, however when the root breaks I better have wards up or he'd get squished. I took care to only use the debuffs that dont give damage over time, as dots tend to break roots. Our debuffs works great with the warlock's damage spells.

I've used the brigand / defiler combo latly. Works quite well. The brigand will bring evac and group invis to your duo, can stun / stifle the mob as well as change the direction the mob looks = lots of prevented damage.Because my coercer and my defiler are on the same account I couldn't test this combo. But sounds fun too with a charmed tank pet.

Just to add to the SK/Defiler idea. I've grouped with a couple good SKs, and IB is a saver while groupward is casting...

Wife and I played a Defiler/Fury Combo, we are currently 78 with 125 or so AAs each. Once you get the swing of this combo, if your play style includes a lot of questing and killing every named you see, it works really, really well. Liberal use of Wards and debuffs, heal each other as needed, DoT and DD the mobs to death while they beat on the defiler in chain. Get the pet AA line, spec the defiler for healing, Fury for damage. Get Adept IIIs, use the Master II options for wards and heals for the Defiler, Damage for the Fury. The Fury is great with multi targets, the defiler better on single higher level target, so they tend to compliment each other. If you get the right resist Armor and Jewelry(player made mastercrafted) in the mid 70's you can go to skyfire and shoot level 80-82 drakes out of the sky without a break, their spells can't touch you and they dont melee. We have been able to level as fast or faster than most folks we know and we have never been wanting for AAs. Plus if you want to get a group for any instance, you already have two healers ready to go.... Ports are nice, ability to get instance groups is good, useful in a Raid and as I said, if you get the swing of working together, the two classes are extremely effective, no down time, fast leveling.

My son and I play a Defiler/Coercer combo and it has been pretty darn stout. The mezz allows us to completely debuff the mob before engaging. The wards allow the Coercer to take the first blow from a rampaging triple up and his stuns/root/mezz allow him to re-control the target - giving me time to re-ward. He and I (alone) were able to clear Poet's Palace until the last mob at level 59-60. Alacrity stacked on an already insanely fast Coercer makes him a machine-gun.

He and I solo'ed the Ancients Table as well, with the mobs Yellow/White. So, we are a pretty effective fighting team.

In PVP (if you care) - we have done well because his mezz allows the slow casting Defiler the time needed to pre-ward (as much as possible) and debuff as needed.

My hubby and I have an SK/Defiler duo. It's one of our favorites. I have all 6 healer classes paired up with various tanks/scouts/casters of his and it is one of the most efficient and self sustaining duos we have. We're only level 30 though so far. It's not as fast as say our Conjuror/Fury combo at killing stuff, but we never die or have any trouble completing quests and our Heroic Opportunities match up very nicely and it's true that our debuffs and attacks work very nicely together.
