View Full Version : connectionstats window..
No matter what I try (spamming F11, resetting windows to default, adding the include statement to eq2ui ini file, and conenctionstats addon) i can not get this window to show up.Is there anything I've forgotten to get this window to show up?

I found the same issue after they implemented the connection stats window. I found that I had to manually add the F11 key to activate the window. Mine too was blank.

I think whether F11 gets filled in or not depends on whether you've modified your keymaps or not. If you haven't, it's still set at "default" internally and changes to the default get reflected in your keymaps. But if you've changed any keymappings, your customized set is saved and changes to the default are no longer reflected in your settings and you've got to apply them manually.

I also can not get this window to show up at all. however... F11 is set to do it. it just wont show up. I tried resetting the default window locations and everything thinking maybe it was off the screen but that didnt help. Would love to get this thing to work. Anyone have any other ideas other then just making sure its set?

Try /show_window MainHUD.ConnectionStats to see if that makes it visible. If not, check your eq2ui_mainhud.xml file to make sure it has a line in there that says:<include>eq2ui_mainhug_connectionstats.xml</include>If that line is there, make sure the .xml file listed above is actually in your ui directory. If you are using a custom UI, try loading the default UI to see if it works. Some custom UI's provide their own version of eq2ui_mainhud.xml file which may not include the link to the Connection Stats Window. If this is the case, try to obtain a new version of the UI, and if there isn't one, you can add the <include> line yourself.

Unfortunately I'm about out of ideas. You could try renaming your [server]_[character]_eq2_uisettings.ini to something else and then restarting your client to see if the issue is a corrupted UI file. If you don't want to do this, try making a new character who will have a fresh uisettings file.I don't think this would matter, but you could also try renaming your eq2_recent.ini file before starting your client. Are the stats updating properly? You can test this by typing /dynamicdata general.ping and it should show the current ping value in the chat window. You didn't mention this specifically, but did the eq2ui_mainhud_connectionstat.xml file exist in your UI/Default directory? Open this file with notepad, does it have text in it?

yep it was in the ui/default folder where it belongs opened it up with notepad and the right line was in there. i have tried it on new characters and it still dosnt show up. tried deleteing it and letting it redownload just in case it was corrupted and no luck. the connectionstat file has text in it and it looks like i would expect. And yes it looks like it updates and shows my ping when i type that in in game.
<p>Try the command </p><p>/toggleconnectionstats</p>

This might not help, but when this was new i couldnt find it either. It was hiding under one of my Chat window<img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> The connectionstat window is very small and its really possible it could be hiding under one of your other UI windows.
Yeah F11, was already there, I even tried mapping a new key to it. <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> No go.I added <include>eq2ui_mainhud_connectionstats.xml</include> to my eq2ui_mainhud file, no go./show_window mainhud.connectionstats (as well as mainhud_connectionstats) didn't work either.I also attempted the /toggleconnectionstats command, and nothing. <img src="/smilies/9d71f0541cff0a302a0309c5079e8dee.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />I guess some of us are just meant to be without a connectionstats window? <img src="/smilies/283a16da79f3aa23fe1025c96295f04f.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />

Do you have the EQ2maps extension or a custom UI installed?

Along with Rothgar's idea about renaming the characters' uisettings to see if it's the individual files that are corrupted, also try deleting the file "original_uisettings" which will force the patcher to redownload it...just incase that file is corrupted as well.

<p>Another option is that the stats window may be there - but you can't see it as it is located OUTSIDE the normal window / screen. You could try resetting window positions to default....</p><p>Hope you find it!</p><p>-Thoronve-</p>
I do use eq2maps, and the eq2ui_mainhud i edited was the one in he eq2map folder. On top of reseting all my windows to default, I also went into options and told it to not allow windows off screen. :/
