I currently built a new duo core computer. All my drivers are current and I am on windows vista. I know that on some games (Everquest 2 included) you have to promp it to run in windows XP service pack 2 mode and run as administrator - check. I knew that without even looking for support.

Now, I have installed the game and removed and reinstalled 3 times now just because I'm scratching my head on this one. It lets me log into the launch screen where it downloads the patches. You guys know that big grey box underneath the download status bar that says [UPDATING] ? Well after a couple of hours it will say updates complete but the box [UPDATING] Is still greyed out and still says "updating" and not play like it used to when I was on my old PC. The other funny thing is, sometimes when I close it down and restart, it will begin to download other patches - sometimes the same stuff over again.

Either way, the issue is repetitive and it's obviously not a bad install and I can still log in and it works fine on my old XP machine but I really want to know if there's a way I can get around this on my new machine. Has anyone ever run into this problem and does anyone know of a solution?
