I am attempting to install EQ2 (Rise of Kunark) onto my Dell Inspiron E1705 laptop. I am running Vista Pro SP1. Every time I try to install into my 'Games' folder which is located in my 'User' folder, I get an error message from the installshield wizard telling me that I cannot install to the 'User' folder. I have disabled UAC and am installing as administrator. ALL of my other games, including LOTRO and many single player games are installed into this folder, but EQ2 won't allow me to install there so I am assuming it is a problem with the Sony installer for EQ2. I like to keep all of my games in one place and don't want to install into the 'Programs' folder.

Does anyone know of a work-around for this issue?

Edit: I did do a thorough search of these forums and found nothing pertaining to this. Does everyone just install to the default "Programs" folder, or has anyone else run into this problem and just given up?

I install to a separate HDD then what my Windows OS is on, and have not experienced this issue just yet. Is USERS set to read only?

I finally decided to clear some room on my laptop and just install to the Programs folder.

I tried everything I could think of but nothing I did would allow me to install EQ2 (Rise of Kunark) into the 'User' folder. I wish a tech would reply and tell me why EQ2 won't allow installation into this folder. This is the only game I've come across that won't install here.

EQ2 will install to any folder you tell it to, I do not know why yours specifically will not install to that User fodler.
