Please address PVP fame rules for grey opponents

I would like devs to take a look at fame rules regarding gray opponents. I was under impression that if gray attacks you and you kill it you get fame. That doesn't not seem to be the case if they are helping someone else. Yesturday I started fighting a blue oponnent on SS dock (ungrouped), got swarmed by like 5 greys with titles in my range. I wiped them all including the blue, only got fame off the guy in my level range. Later on tho I got killed fighting another set and the same greys leeched off fame from me. I think it's total BS that they can take fame off you but it didn't assign it to me even tho they joined in the fight like in first scenario. No wonder you see lvl 20s with titles like general.

If grays make an attempt to kill you, and hit you....you shoul dget fame from them.

Except that's not always the case as I have clearly witnessed last night. I also noticed that if I join an ongoing fight of reds on one of my toons and lose I didn't lose fame. I think grays lose fame ONLY when they engage a target that's not already engaged with someone else.

I for one ahve never believed greys should be able to do any damage to reds.  eq2 should adopt an exponential THACO chart.  Even though we don't use a true AC =0 type formula it should be damned near impossible for a grey to do anything but have their attacks bounce off reds especially if of significant higher level.  The grey issues is not equal to all classes.  My lvl 71 (grey assassin) can fight and survive against a lvl 80 swashy better than my 80 necro does.  These game mechanics are quite screwy.  Especially since I am not a better assassin than I am a necro.
