View Full Version : Putting the bruiser on hold

I've got an 80 bruiser, and I've got a 58 assassin. Both are fun classes but I can easily see the problem my bruiser has now that he's 80.Looking to get into raiding, and though I can get an invitation, I know that I'm less than useful. I had the role of doing a few pulls for the raid, making mobs spawn and then using FD. It was fun, but wasn't anything the normal MT couldn't do. Beyond the courtesy of letting me pull the raid had no other real use for me. Basically I was just another dps class. One that never parsed anywhere near the 3 assassins, the Necro, or the Wizards. I could come close to the brigs on sometimes, and when KnockOut was up I could lay down dmg, but it still never entered the realm of a real DPS class. So I shelve my bruiser to make way for my assassin in the hopes that at 80 I'll have a purpose in raids. As it stands now I felt like a dirge without any songs.(oh and my opinion is that brawler itemization is lacking behind, another reason to consider an scout)

You could always betray monk and offer the raid a very nice haste/spell haste buff, targetable heal, peel and tsunami, and group feign death.

But yeah bruiser raid usefulness is not very good, I would say its dead last except maybee compared to SK raid usefulness.

They really need to do something with our raid buff. Get rid of the + CA damage and just make it a straight + dps, taunt/detaunts buff.

I play on PvP so betraying to Monk means leaving my guild and friends behind. Not something I really want to do. I'll just play a different class and come back to my bruiser when there is something to do with him.

Just betray your city to get the best out of the 'opposite Class'? What about the storyline? What about the war between FP and Q? All forgotten? Is this just not important anymore? Why not just close all the beautiful worlds and throw away the Lore and open a dark cellar to hit some Epics...just to get fabled items...oh where have we been going??

Firnbarion

There is a story line in EQ2? I must have missed the memo. I don't believe in betraying but that's just because I am hard headed.

If someone plays with that in mind, many places and quests get a completely different meaning - far away from what is lootable or whatever gear might be taken from the end mob....

For me this side of EQ2 - the background story - is one of the pieces that makes it so nice to play.

Firnbarion

BTW just to come back to the topic: I play an 80 monk and have a bruiser (Lvl 20 now) just to feel the difference...
