After patching, the 'PLAY' button doesn't appear. It stays as 'UPDATING' with the clickable 'Download' button below it. Have clicked on the 'Download' button many times and and it shows 'Update Complete' each time, yet the 'UPDATING' button remains grey and it doesn't change to the 'PLAY' button. The game was working fine the last time I logged in, which was a couple of days ago. I am also running Windows XP Pro. The patcher keeps downloading 'vivoxsdk.dll'.

Locate that vivoxsdk.dll file under the main Everquest 2 folder, delete it and then try repatching.

Same issue here....Beta patcher replied with something along the lines of:"The was a problem moving C:Program Filessonyeverquest IIUIfontszcal801b.ttf.fotplease try again and contact SOE is the problem persists blah blah"I located the file and when I tried to remove it, it simply told me the file is corrupted or unreadable and cannot be deleted.------------------------------------- Following up - Used Unlocker and had the files deleted upon reboot...rebooted and ran the patcher and I'm able to play now

I see a file called "lp_tmp_vivoxsdk.dll.4cd2a0_a3e8e91d.tmp" - that's the only thing containing "vivoxsdk.dll". Deleting it doesn't help. The system just keeps trying to download it, and appears not to succeed.

Downloaded the 'Station Launcher Beta' and tried using that. After a couple retries for failed files, the download was finally complete and I am playing EQ2 as I write this....WOOT!

Thanks for all the suggestions and I hope this info helps others with the same problem.
