View Full Version : Download Cancelled Message

<p>I get past the launcher,  click accept, put in my user name and password, I get the update screen and it starts to download,  I get the estimated time remaining of 1 hour 16 minutes .. then i get the message of Download Cancelled.   </p><p>It was working fine this morning and last night.   So any ideas on whats wrong? </p>

Please try and power cycle your modem/router (unplug the power for 20 seconds then plug back in)If you have Vista you may need to do the following.   1. Run the Task Scheduler.  (Windows Key, type task scheduler and hit enter)   2. In the left window pane make sure "Task Scheduler Library" is selected.   3. in the Actions pane, click "create task."   4. In the general tab, in the name field type EQ2   5. Make sure the "Run with highest privileges" box is checked.   6. Go to the Actions tab and click the "New..." button.   7. In the "Program/script:" field, use the browse button to locate and select the EQ2.exe file   8. In the "Start in (optional):" field type in the full path to your EverQuest 2 folder.  For example: c:program filessonyEverQuest II    9. Click OK when you are finished and then close the Task Scheduler.  10. Right Click on your desktop and select New>Shortcut  11. In the "Type the location of the item:" field enter the following line schtasks /run /tn "EQ2"  12. Click Next and enter EQ2 in the name field then click finish.Once you do that you can go to the properties of your new shortcut and change the icon by clicking the "change Icon..." button and pointing to the EQ2.ico file in your Everquest 2 directory.Also if you have any firewalls, you will want to make sure that you readded everquest2.exe, eq2.exe to the allowed lists.

<p>I reset my router. </p><p>I dont have Vista.</p><p>I couldnt find a way to disable my firewall so I uninstalled it temporarily.  </p><p>Still gets up to scanning files but cancels the download.  </p>

Well it seems that soemthing is blocking you.Go ahead and perform a clean boot and make sure the proper ports are open on your router.Clean boot,1. Select the START button.2. Select RUN, then type in "msconfig" (for Vista, type msconfig in the search bar at the bottom of the Start Menu)3. Press OK4. Select the STARTUP tab.5. In the list, uncheck all boxes EXCEPT for SCANREGISTRY and SYSTEM TRAY. If you use Windows XP, please note that SCANREGISTRY and SYSTEM TRAY will not be listed - just uncheck the entire list.6. Hit apply and then OK. Restart the computer and try the game again.Port Information EverQuest II LaunchPad and Patch Servers A TCP connection is initiated to patch.station.sony.com at port 7000. A UDP connection is initiated to port range 3016-3021 and 9700-9703. EverQuest II Patch: A TCP connection is initiated at port 7010. EverQuest II Game Client: UDP connections are initiated from the EverQuest II client on UDP ports 9100, and UDP ports in the range 32800-33000. Additionally, ICMP messages type 0 (echo reply), 3 (unreachable), 8 (echo request) and 11 (expired) should be permitted bi-directionally between the client PC and the EverQuest II servers.
