Just got EQ2. Know very little, the game has changed heaps since the beta.Where does the brawler fit in tanking wise? At this stage I'm mostly looking at group content, since my mates and I are all starting.I want to be an Iksar monk...reincarnation of my EQ monk hehe, so I'm most likely going to betray. However when I do this I don't know. So, how do all these advancement trees work? I think it's at lvl 14 I get to pick from different abilities. How much do these influence agro management? Are there some that simply become obsolete and I should ignore whilst others have greater stayability?Any info would be appreciated thanks.EDITWhat I seem to be really looking for is some commentary on the Bruiser Master II skills.

<p>I don't want to sound abrupt here but there must be about a dozen threads above and below the thread you just posted containing all the information you need to know. If the information you need to know isn't there - I know it is - then there is a helpful search function.</p><p>Happy to help but put some effort in first surely?</p>

Unfortunately what I am looking for is not exactly there. The sticky threads are more a list skills and abilities and does not offer any discussion on them. I was hoping for something akin to the monk Master II sticky which lists the skills, and describes pros/cons/best choice for game play type/most often chosen. From what I've been reading though it doesn't matter in the long run due to gaining similar skills later on.

So, have at it. I never specced for tanking and I was fine. I specced for soloing, but that doesn't tweak us outa being a great tank.</p><p>We have a little issue with multi mobs agro control, so you have to be careful. You can't just blast you green encounter taunt and think the bad guys will stick to you like glue. You need to constantly tab through the mobs and hit them and taunt. If you stay actibve like that, you can do just fine. So don't be a lazy tank <img src="/eq2/images/smilies/69934afc394145350659cd7add244ca9.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY<img src=" width="15" height="15" />" width="15" height="15"></p><p>As far as speccing to tank. Id you are grouping more than not, you may want to do the INT Line first so you are getting a major boost in your defensive ability. I would go 8/4/8/8 to start with. Then I would go over to the Monk/Bruiser Tree and max out the taunts so they are on the fastest reuse timer. From there max the heal, and then from there go back to Brawler tree and sart a new line.</p><p> As far as MII choices, just let us know what is coming up to you and we can offer suggestions if you are a Bruiser.</p>

Thanks Pnaxx. You gave some info I was looking for. I finally understand the Master II skills, I thought they are just upgrades to skills we naturally I get.Yeah I understand the tanking. I remember how to do it back from beta. I died a lot because I did a much better job at holding agro across multiple mobs than our plate counterparts...but that's just because I'm a pretty intense player, and I think most tanks out there suck (across all MMOs). In fact, my tanking ability comes to me from my EQ monk haha.Since my mates are currently higher level I'm speccing the str line first to help solo.I just wish the monk archetypes weren't named monk/bruiser. Would have preferred disciple/brawler. Bruiser just sounds like someone that beats up on women.
<p>While a monk may offer way more in terms of overall raid, group, utility, and good fighter dps than my bruiser I will always be bruiser. There are many things that do need looking into for the bruiser class but there are other classes that need looking into as well. I would like to see the animations on the bruisers changed to a more aggressive style of fighting but not a stylish jumping around like monks. Punches and kicks animation style with authority is what I would like to see on the bruiser.</p><p>Fun class. Great class. Roll one and most people should have a blast all the way to lvl 80.</p>

<p>Bruiser is more solo friendly.</p><p>Monk is more group/raid friendly.</p><p>Although the difference between monk/bruiser soloability is much smaller then the difference between monk/bruiser groupablility.</p>
