Howdy, I lately start raiding. I was told my dps is kind of low. They told me that swashy's dps should around 4k in raid if in MT group, otherwise I should have 3.2K~3.5K.After couple grp/raid, I found my dps with good poison was ~3K with dirge, without dirge ~2K(Insight and On Guard were used frequently, Perfect Finess and Ruthless only used when fighting nameds) Therefore I've kept thinking of how to improve my dps. No long ago, I noticed that most of swashy CA, its casting time is 0.4.There must be some tricks to improve DPS by CA and auto attack combination. So I did rearrange my CA order. Mainly, I would usually perform my CA as following orderStealthy Charge --> Kindney Stab --> Trickery --> Triple Blade --> Eye Point --> Walk the Plank --> Sack --> Lung Blade --> Cheap Shot --> Torporous Strick --> Boot Dagger --> Stealthy Charge --> Kindney Stab --> Traumatic Swape --> Bedazzling Steal --> Heal Cut --> Flashy Stricke --> Uncanny Thrusts --> Blame BladeMy DPS didn't improve much after several tries.Besides upgrading my gears, Is there any trick in CA + Auto attack combination, or the order of performing CA?Please advise me. STR 4,8,4,8,2 AGI 4,8,4,8,2 STA 4,4,4 INT 4, 1good spec for dps DW, also work on timing CAs, get two weapons with same delay -- try and get serrator or carotidcutter for off hand, also try to get as much DA as you can for DW, you wanna aim for atleast 20% self buffedtiming CAs... its annoying if the weap delays are off, but if you get two 4 second delays you can do pairs of 2 for most part... sneak + stealthy charge, lung bleed + Uncanny Thrusts, etc. do pairs of 2 and then let auto attack hit. there are a few exceptions though such as swathe, which really shouldnt be cast with anything else between 2 auto attacks, and probably save for when nothing else is up besides swathe. also inspiration you can only get that one off. if you have act you can set up a beep trigger to time auto attacks, go to triggers/binds tab, the expessions are:YOU critically hitYOU hitset to beep or w/e and whenever you auto attack it beeps or what ever you have it set to

don't need to time CA's anymore...but everything else katana said is pretty much right on.

I haven't played in awhile and I'm still catching up on things.Are the old use slow weapons of match speed guidelines still valid?

Group Setup: Without a good group setup you won't be doing anything remotely impressive. A dirge is the first step in the right direction. If you are in a group with no dirge, troub or chanter, then your RL really needs to evaluate his raid force. Otherwise you will be stuck doing ~2.2K, like me when I aint in a swashy friendly group. My favorite group setup is one with a dirge, inquisitor, shaman, coercer, warden, MA tank... mmmmMMMmmmm MA group. I don't always get that though.Equipment: Focus on Melee Crit chance(procs on AA and CA), then Double Attack(procs on AA only), then DPS mod. Temp Buffs: My dps comes from my management of my temp buffs. I open up the fight with insight and my racial attack buff(Dark Elf), this usually places me very high on the parse. After insight drops off, I use En Guard. After En Guard drops off, or we have a brigand and he uses dispatch I use Perfect Finesse. Wash Rince Repeat. Using Perfect Finesse with Insight is [Removed for Content] useless by the way, so don't use those buffs together if you can help it because you want to maintain consistent high dps, not burst it all out at once. Throughout the fight, I watch my weapon delays. When they drop down to minimum value I use Insight again, but otherwise I use En Guard whenever it lights up, and perfect finesse whenever my insight isnt up or a brigand dispatches. My racial DE combat buff ability is used in tandem with my insight when it is up etc etc. There's some AAs in the swashy line that makes these buffs more potent and reduce reuse timers.Offense: Casting Order for me is Avoidance -> DPS -> Offensive. I save my traumatic swipe for the joust call, making it the last CA to go off before I joust so I don't count that into my casting order at all, unless the mob doesn't AE, which is only rarely the case in RoK raids it seems.I come in the top 5 on every encounter, while normally coming 1st or 2nd if I am in the MA group doing 9 to 11% of the raidwide dps. I only get consistently beaten by good assassins and good wizards. Hope this helps.

But that's pretty much it for me really. I spam click my short casting CAs and my AA always goes off when its suppose to.

Thank you guys for advice.I appreciate it.Very luckily, I finally got Carotidcutter after 2 months of hunting in CoA <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />There were something which totally broke my original concept.I usually used "insight" and "En Guard" at then same time, and then "Perfect Finesse". To me, the most difficult thing for me is when I should click CAs. Due to my basic haste is 33% and it would change after starting combats (if no other haste buff, it can be ~90%)I have some further questions about our abilities.1. Does "Decrease Target's defense, Physical AC" really help us to get more damage? (in another word, we could get more DPS from those debuff CAs?)2. if weapon delay is 4 sec with haste 100%, the interval of each auto-attack is 2 sec? (what if the haste is ~200% for instance, we get 1 sec of interval of AA?)3. what Katanallama said about "you wanna aim for at least 20% self buffed", I couldn't figure it out. May I ask what he meant?Right now, Our guild is stuck at VSL and I am the only swashy in the guild. I am trying to be more helpful in the guild and be able to help them.Thank everyone again.

But against non-epic mobs, the order you do your attacks in matters in DPS. Tricks parses higher DPS both solo and grouped, mitigation debuffs do as well. So I use them earlier instead of later in the fights.
