When an otem say increases DPS by 3 is that:

1. By 3 %

2. 3 times your current DPS?

Also are Crits better than DPS modifiers when you select an item for Max DPS

How about double attack

Is there a calculation to use

Thanks

For DPS points below 100 each increase in DPS points is roughly equivalent to 1% increase in DPS ratings of a weapon. The sucky part of the curve is above 100 points.IMODouble attack > DPS because no diminishing curve, additional proc and crit chance. Crits are considered the best in most cases for Brigs because they affect both Auto Attack and Combat Arts.Weapons max/min damage ratio is very important when it comes to Crit.Examples: a weapon that hits minimum of 25 and maximum was 75, 100, 125 or 150 the Crit Damage % increase would vary as follows.Max/Min Ratio Avg Crit Damage % 3 59% 4 69% 5 75% 6 79%While Auto Attack Crits are generally less than the benefit from DPS, Double Attack or Haste the plus from Combat Art Crits which is always a straight 30% generally makes Crit more desirable. The less that auto attack contributes to the total DPS the more that Crit helps.Simplified examples using 6 Max/Min ratio :If Auto Attack was 25% of total Damage and Combat Art was 75% each point of Crit would provide:(25% x .79%) + (75% x .30%) = .42% total damage vs 1% DPS (25% x 1%) = .25%If Auto Attack was 50% of total Damage and Combat Art was 50% each point of Crit would provide: (50% x .79%) + (50% x .30%) = .55% total damage vs 1% DPS (50% x 1%) = .50%Duufus
