Yep, I'm ticked off...I've been thinking about resubscribing to EQ2 for a while now, so this Living Legacy thing was perfect. I haven't played for 2 years and I wanted to see how the gameworld has changed. The Living Legacy promotion says that returning players can log in for 60 days. Well, I can't. This seems more like a scam than anything else.First, I've tried downloading and installing twice now - once from the EQ2 website and once from the Living Legacy website. I can load the files, patch the game and start the EQII launcher from the EQII icon. Up comes the launcher and I log into the game using my station account - the same station account that shows I have a subscription to EQ2 that expired 2 years ago. But here's where the problem is. I have no options to change servers to my old (Oasis) server. I have no ability to hit the drop-down box and select a character. Nada...nothing...zero. So my only option is to create a new character, which I have no interest in doing. I left as a player in good standing, I can see my character on the EQ2 Players site.So after finding nothing in the Sony Station (has any portal been more poorly designed?), I tried to reactivate through the EQ2 Players site:https://auth.station.sony.com/login...s&locale=enI click the prior players button and get this:
HTTP Status 404 - /eq2/accounts/station/EditLogin.m
I'm stuck and this "Living Legacy" promotion seems more and more like a scam to me - no options, dead links, etc. Sony, if you're going to compete with WoW, LOTRO, AoC and the upcoming Warhammer MMO, you need to make this a lot easier to use because this is absurd.

Not sure about this but are you looking at the US servers? When you said about the Oasis server I assumed that. I know you may have tried this but on the log in screen once you are patched in the upper right corner of the window where the drop down arrow is...does is show the EU servers? Or does it show the US servers?

If it shows the EU servers use the drop down and switch to the US servers and repatch from that. Hopefully this helps you.

No, I checked before I posted...I'm supposed to be on the US servers. I just get no option for any server.

Oasis is a US server, on the EULA page, do you have the region set correctly? The region select is on the Upper right hand corner of teh EULA page using the launchpad. Yes, the region is set correctly.2. I hit play and can start a new character. I've tried this on both the test server and the main servers. I can even create a new character on Oasis. I just can't get to any of my old characters, which would be the entire reason for trying this again. I've done the newbie zones...I want to see what's changed from 40-80.3. It shows up that I'm activated on the (lousy) Sony Station.4. I've tried that link on 2 different browsers on my machine and another on my laptop. Try logging out, hit sign in and then hit the button to the right for returning players. I guarantee you get that 404 error. And I realize the title of my thread is probably overboard - "scam" is a harsh word. That's just my frustration talking. I've just spent the better part of the morning trying to get this to work to no avail. It seems that Sony has this entirely screwed up. After this, my chances of resubscribing have gone to virtually nil. So I've changed the thread title to be less "dramatic".

Maybe you had activated a trial account in the sometime distant past that you did not play on? Try a different account maybe.

Are you running vista?

If so you might have to right click it and give it admin rights. Just an idea not sure if it will help.
