Level 9 so far, having fun. But I'm just wondering what would make for faster leveling, I am new to the game so I probably won't know any acronyms.

And why does a lvl11 mob spell death?

Okay, my tips.

Money:

Sell everything like Adept Books, Armor to other players via the Brooker. And don't sell it in view of "how useful is it" sell it with "how rare is it on the Broker". Next, if this doesn't work good on your server, sell resources, low level resources are rather rare in the brooker.

After consolidating your finances, lets go to buisness. Equipment for Level 12-21.

Buy rare leather for Level 12-21, ask an tailor, and let you make armor. Why leather, should Paladins not wearing plate? Rare Iron is expensive, rare leather is cheap. Seven pieces mastercrafted leather is better then 1-2 pieces plate armor. The mitigation from the armor is not such a significant drawback, but those Strenght, Stamina, Agility stats, Lifepoints and Power will help you a lot.

Weapon, rare wood is cheap, so T2 wood rare, let you make an one-handed club with an Imbue damage proc and a long delay, 4-5 sec. Paladins need longer delay, as our spells have longer casting time. If you have the money, also get an two handed staff from rare wood. Also, weapon should be imbued for damage proc. Next, buy some suitable damage adornments from the broker for your weapon. Same here as with armor, wood is cheaper then iron. But pls. ask an woodworker before, as I'am not to knowledgeable about low level equipment (has been some time)

Next, kite shield or tower shield, doesn't matter to much. Block chance is equal on both. So mastercrafted only if you can afford it.

Hex Dolls, from a tailor for your amulet slot. In my opinion, 2x +9 Strenght.

Ask an jeweller for an strenght imbued ring (proc improves basic damage) and an agility imbued ring (improves weapon delay).

All alkali rare loam you find, is your frind, go to an Alchemist and let you make some Adept 3 spells. Offensive and Defensive (level 16) Stance first.

With level 10, you get access to the achivement system. You get point in this system with Quests, named Monsters, Exploration. Don't level to fast, quest a lot, Achivement is real nice! First line I would take, is Champions Stamina 4 Points, Hammer Ground 4 Points, Fervors Faith 8 Points. As Melee crit affects your autoattack (basic weapons) and your Combat Arts, which is the majority of buttons you see now. Later, put points into spell crit. Agility line has an Option for hitting multiple enemies with your auto attack, this is nice in lower gaming.

With better equipment, you will have a lot easier time. Don't attack heroic enemies, those with three arrows over their name. They will kill you all the time! That are group encounters. I guess, your level 11 enemy was an heroic.

My guess is level 11 mob = death is all starting zone, I suggest running all of you characters to TD ((ask in 1-9 chat, someone can tell you how to get there at level 1 from qeynos, or if you are on Crushbone, send a line to Yusa, i'll run you from qeynos to there)) -- The other starting zones gear is crap in comparison, I had the same problem, leveled a swashy to 11, quit it because I was getting owned by whites, deleted it, played around a bit, found out about TD and made another swashy, ran her there, and bam, no problems whatsoever.Problem with most people on the forums is they expect people to have unlimited access to cash, broker is the same, even farming mats on my swashy, I can barely afford 1 MC'd piece of gear at 29. Games economy isn't nice to new players. money obviously becomes a minor issue at higher levels, so blowing 1.5p on a level 22 sword becomes feasible -- which is probably the reason TD was designed the way it is, gives two full sets of armor ((one >10, and if you complete all of the quests it'll give another full set that's mostly level 16-17ish)), and several weapons, all MC-quality.

yeah as the poster above suggested run to TD. Hopefully you have that expansion. If you go to TD and run the quest lines you will have great gear through probably about lvl 25 and be able to pick up a good amount of AA's.

Oh...and to agree with what the first responder said....SELL EVERYTHING!!!! Even if you can only get 50sp for it on the broker, every SP adds up!! I started fresh on a new server a few days ago and made 25gp in just a few days. Not much cash to someone who has been playing a while, but a crap load to someone new. The first thing I did when i made a little cash was to buy bags and boxes. More bags means you carry more loot. Bigger boxes means you can sell more loot at once. Also harvest everything and sell all the rares.
