I am trying to do the Book of the Dead series of quests that results in the house item, in The Graveyard, Freeport area. For some reason, the Custodian Zaddar is not offering me the first quest in the chain. I know he has offered it to Qeynos players, and players that have had the quest grayed out. I am a lv 27 Dirge, of Gorowyn, and am an Ayr'Dal. Has this been changed recently, and in which case can I no longer get the Book? Any help would be great, thanks.

I was able to complete this quest just a couple of days ago as a level 80 High Elf Mystic from Qeynos. I was surprised because about a year or two ago I had tried to get this quest and the NPC wouldnt give it to me.

I was running around freeport trying to get my statues for the SoD, when I ran past him and I noticed he had a quest feather over his head, and was shocked he let me have the quest and complete it since he wouldn't before.

Have you by any chance already done the quest?
Custodian Zaddar Sullissia
I believe that the book is from Quest 6

BTW is there a way to rebuild the faction hit you take from doing that quest? for Kanaraz it doesn't matter she is a Shadowknight but Klornie is a Monk (I was playing around with the quests when they first came out)

Yes, I did the series and stoped after finishing the Book of the Dead the other day.

About the faction, I dont think there is any way to get it back, and I searched the forums and all the information I can find about the faction certain mobs give when you kill them. All I could find was that it was only the faction of the mobs in the Graveyard and that zone alone. There is another faction that sounds similar is one that involves Marr npc's in KoS, but that is not the same and didn't affect it.

Sorry, I just now thought of it. I know when I first hailed him he said something that pretty much insulted Antonia, and Qeynos, and there was a response to reply back, but I was sure that was a quest ender, so I didn't click that option and assured him I was a "follower of Freeport" (hah) anyways after that I was able to progress through the quests.

I also have selected in my options menu to allow me to see grey quest feather icons above NPC heads if they have a quest. I'm not sure if that would really help the OP, because if you try to hail him anyways without that option selected he should still give you the quest even if there is no "grey feather" shown over his head.

The only reason I bothered now to do the quests was because I saw he had a grey quest feather.

Like I said, I tried many, many months ago to get the quests to get the book of the dead and he would definatly not give me the quest on my main (which is the mystic), I dont know why he did now.

I hope the OP is able to figure this out and get the book, it's a very unique looking house item.

You may want to petition it. There are scattered situations where a characters from a certain city aren't properly flagged and if so, the npc won't give the quest. In your case, from Gorowyn, maybe the quest giver, doesn't recognize you as being the sort of person he'll speak to. Seems like right after a new city is established, we run into it alot. Maybe this guy never got a fix?

This was probably a couple months ago. Haven't been in the area recently to see if it's been changed. My Qeynos characters were able to complete the quest, though.
