If you are having technical problems playing and your account is a reactivated for the Legends promotion please post here what your issues are.

Mine is simple, ever since I had to re-class an Iksar Cleric my account is unplayable. I have done everything under the sun, moon, and forums to try to alleviate the problem. I load character select screen fine, I can create and delete characters until my eyes bleed, but if I log in I get as far as actually being in game for 2 lines of chat in my text bars then dumped right back to character select. I kow it is account based because I just took a trial account on the same computer and played him to max level with ZERO problems.

Everyone else having issues I figured we could all post them here to give the TSR guys something to read over where everyone is.

Lets get that Gamma Ramp issue resolved.First you will need to download your video cards newest driver.as well as the newest version of DirectX9.0c from Microsofthttp://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...;DisplayLang=enand a driver cleaning programhttp://downloads.guru3d.com/download.php?det=745Once you have both files downloaded, you will need to reboot your PC in SAFEMODE. To Get to Safe mode you will need to restart your PC. As soon as it turns back on, start holding down the F8 Key. You should be offered a option screen then instead of it booting into Windows right away. You will want to select SAFE MODE with NETWORKING. Windows will now load, but it will look different from what you are used to. Install and use the Driver Cleaner program, this will totally remove any old drivers for your video card. After it is finished go ahead and install the DirectX. After this is installed, you will need to reboot the PC, and load it into SAFEMODE again. This time go ahead and install the Video card drivers. Once done, go ahead and reboot the PC normally and try again to start the game.If all goes well, the game will load perfectly, and you should have no errors.Best of luck!

Driver sweep and installing dx9 and new drivers didn't work, still getting same message.

Even when done in safemode? In all reality the error you are getting is a corruption with a directx file not being called properly. Let me grab the big thread link for this issue that can explain better and give you some more advice on correcting this.Old topic but a fantastic source.http://forums.station.sony.com/eq2/...?topic_id=32182

Ok I did a dx diag and my direct x version is directx 10. should I roll back to dx9.0c, and is that possible and how?

I am not saying this to flame anyone, merely stating facts. I am able to log onto and play WoW, AoC, Eve, and Oblivion with no problems. I doubt that my EQ2 log in problems have anything to do with my system or its software. I guess I will just have to wait until you guys figure out the problem on your end and fix it. Thanks for your efforts to aid me in logging in successfully.

Hanlo wrote:
Ok I did a dx diag and my direct x version is directx 10. should I roll back to dx9.0c, and is that possible and how?

Since you have DX10 listed, you are running Vista, there is no way to uninstall and rollback to DX9. vista never had the full version of DX9, it always had DX10. It contains a subset of DX9 - DX9EX becasue DX10 is the first version of Directx that is not backwards compatible at all with applications that require DX9 or earlier.

You can run the dxwebsetup application from MS to load some of the optional modules that some applications require.

Been over a month, still unable to log onto EQII, but I can log onto SWG with my vista dx 10 OS, as well as the others I listed above. Has anyone found a fix for the gamma ramp problem? Apparently SOE isn't too concerned...
