A really annoying problem here. I've a new full account, all expansions. My game is updated correctly (i forced the recheck of files). I can login in the launcher, start the game, create a char but when i click "Play" to finally enter the game I've a error message n°41780 saying that I can't play. It looks like a IP range ban in my opinion as I'm trying to play from china (I work here). The support says usuall stuff about firewall rules which is not a problem, I tried without firewall and all the other games are working.I tried to tunnel through SSH but it seems that Everquest2 refuses to pass through the tunnel so my IP is still a chinese one. I found no official word about this problem but I'm pretty sure SOE is blocking chinese IP. Anyone found a solution for that ?Accepting my money without telling me that I will not be able to play is not fair.I really could use some help please,Thanks

Somehow, I do not think that an IP block is intentional.. I know that a while back they had some issue with people that lived in that part of the world. All that they had to do was send the correct info in a PM to a techie and they were able to fix it (IF it was in fact that error)Hmmm.. in doing a <a href="http://forums.station.sony.com/eq2/search/search.m?clean=1&query=41780&keywordType=&searchTerms=all&author=&userType=&exactMatch=true&forum=&sortBy=relevance&sortDir=DESC&category=&postTime=" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">search</a>, I found a few possibilities.... Are you using Vista? If so, run on Admin....<a href="http://soe-ing.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/soe_ing.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_faqid=12286&p_created=1099870791&p_sid=KZO3fK5j&p_accessibility=0&p_redirect=&p_lva=&p_sp=cF9zcmNoPTEmcF9zb3J0X2J5PSZwX2dyaWRzb3J0PSZwX 3Jvd19jbnQ9MTA5MiwxMDkyJnBfcHJvZHM9MjAmcF9jYXRzPTA mcF9wdj0xLjIwJnBfY3Y9JnBfc2VhcmNoX3R5cGU9YW5zd2Vyc y5zZWFyY2hfbmwmcF9wYWdlPTEmcF9zZWFyY2hfdGV4dD1ncmF waGljcyBjYXJk&p_li=&p_topview=1" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">What are the Supported Video Cards for EverQuest II?</a>

I've Vista 64 and I allready run the software in admin mode. And if that was a problem Everquest2.exe wouldn't even launch at all I think. I'll try to contact a GM by PM.

<p>Do you have a direct conntect to the internet or do you run through a building style lan - more commonly called a campus network?</p><p>When I mention direct connection - I mean do you pay for your internet connection directly to a provider?</p>

Yes I've a normal ADSL connection. I received the common reply from support talking about firewall. But it's NOT a firewall problem ! I'm almost 100% certain that it's an IP range blocking problem, and I really want SOE to give an answer about that. I usually could bypass this kind of problems using SSH tunneling but EQ2 is using UDP and tunneling is not possible.Any official answer or solution ? I just bought the game for nothing ...

You may want to post your connection test results in this thread as well. You can find instructions on how to do so in the following thread.</p><p><a href="http://forums.station.sony.com/eq2/posts/list.m?topic_id=353617" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">http://forums.station.sony.com/eq2/...topic_id=353617</a></p>

I sent a PM to Trevor and checked my account. Everything is fine with the account, it's active and paid. Traceroute seems normal, a bit slow but it's normal from china. Except that no timeout.
