My guild hasn't used the eq2players website for years but it still points people there from the leader boards. How can I change where it thinks my guild's web site is located? I notice other guilds do point to non-SOE sites.

So I started writing up a quick explanation on how to do this. First, sign in to EQ2Players. Then, go to your guild profile and select "Manage a Guild Website". This will bring you to a screen where you need to select which character has guild leader rights. Note: You MUST have guild leader status to change these settings. Then you would normally go to the settings option at the bottom of the list on the next page. However, what you need to do now is petition SOE to fix their website so that you can have access to your own settings again. That's right, it's broken. Just found out while trying to give you guys a good walk-through. For future reference, once you get past this you would want to "create a custom domain", or something similar. Basically, you just find the option that allows you to type in the address of your guild website and that's it. But due to the site mechanics being broken, I can't help you further. Hope you guys can access your own guild's settings better than I can right now. Hope that helps in the right direction at least.

Glad to hear it. Maybe it's just my account that is bugged. I will try submitting a petition.

I noticed the other day that my guild is not showing on eq2players. So I thought it might be a setting on the website to make it public. However I can not gain Admin Rights to this guild where I have been leader for over 3 years and have made some changes to the site a couple of years ago, therefore had Admin Rights (even though that I was the only account on this guild at this time as well). I attributed this issue to the fact that I am the only account on this guild , even though that I was able to make changes to the site at one point, and petitioned it. The answer was that the issue has been reproduced and send to the Development team. This was beginning of October. In the meantime I worked with some friends and invited twinks to the guild. The guild now has 5 different accounts on it and I still cannot gain the Admin Rights. On another guild which also has only 5 accounts on it, I do have Admin Rights with a twink as tested but it took about 3 tries to let me log in to this site.

I also added the extra features for 2.99$ on my account in case this was needed. But it made no difference. Otherwise those features seem to be somewhat useless, but that is something everyone has to decide for themselves.

I invited a 6th account today into the guild see if this changes anything? With the refresh rate of eq2players I should have the answer in a few days. But I heard already after asking larger guilds that those eq2players guildsites are in general a "roll of the dice" if you have the Admin Rights or not. Something is out of whack and not really working here.

Not to derail the subject, but why are you using my character sig, Cronqar? I'm blushing, really, but without some sort of explanatory message, it kind of weirds me out.

Luko, wrong thread. The good news, however is that there are plenty of "character not updating" threads for you to choose from, as the website is still broken without any hope of it being fixed as our concerns have not even been noted by SOE.

This issues with guild leaders being locked out of the admin functions still hasn't been fixed.

Sorry to derail further, but I am using my Sig as far as I can tell. It must be a little hick-up on the site, which wouldn't be really that surprising, wouldn't it?

Back to the topic of having no access to your eq2players website. I have the sixth account in the guild now for some 36 hours. This one still doesn't show on eq2players as a guildmember (Luko wasn't that far off, since this mess is all related somehow). And of course I still cannot gain access to the Admin Rights.

I am patient, I can wait but it somehow seems a bit senseless since pretty much this entire website including support sites is a decaying sunken wreck at best. And who really knows for how long this has been going on?

Hmmm, sorry Cronq. It appears it was a glitch. lol, I even did a search on your other threads to see if it was just a glitch on this one before posting that. First time I've seen that particular occurrence. And no, not surprising at all.

As for Luko, he was completely off. This thread is about admin rights access on EQ2Players, which aren't working for people who have been in a GL positions for well over two years and had access before.

New players to a guild updating to the website is a separate problem. Not arguing the relative importance of these issues, just where they should be addressed. On a side note, it looks like his post was moved, so it is a moot point.

Your best bet to getting this solved is a petition, since this forum has obviously been abandoned by everyone at SOE except the mods and non-EQ2players tech support.

You seem to be right, Lukos post has been moved. It appears that someone with Admin Rights is reading along here^^.

I did of course petitioned on the issue and believe that I explained the issue somewhat clearly. I am going to copy/paste the petition and answer below. Maybe this will jog something somewhere.

Hello **TSR name.,Thank you for your reply. Unfortunately doesn't it answer or touch my problem. I probably shouldn't have combined 2 questions in one petition. Let me try and explain the issue again that I do not have Admin Rights on my eq2players Guild Website.1. My character, Crescent, is the leader of the guild "The Whole Of The Moon" on Valor. He is the only member and Leader of this guild. When I try to log into the guild website over following link:Character SelectionManage Your Existing WebsitesGuild: The Whole Of The Moon (Valor)Crescent (Absolutely a Lunatic)2. Otherwise, your session may have expired. Please try signing in again.4. Signing in again will produce the same results.5. As a test, I got Admin Rights granted by a guildleader of a different guild, where my Twink, Saqred, plays. There, I do have full rights and no problems whatsoever.6. I do know from friends in similar situations with solo Guilds, that have the same issues as well as the issue that the guilds are not showing in the "search" function in eq2players.Could you confirm with me if this is a known issue which might be related to the # of guildmembers that is below the requiered 6 to start a guild. Or ist there something else since I did make some changes to the website being the only member. Therefore I did have the Admin Rights at one point even though I was the only member. (Website editing done: Submitted By: Crescent Mar 12, 2006 )Thank you for your time,Crescent Moon

Here is the reply, dated 10/06/2008.

Greetings,Thank you for contacting Sony Online Entertainment.
It is about 1 month from the date of the original petition in regards to missing Admin Rights to the eq2players guildsites. In the meantime I was busy and inviteted twinks to see if there is a difference if you have 6 seperate accounts in the guild. The 6th account got invited about 2 weeks ago and unfortunately is still not showing in the guild roster. Neither has anything changed in regards to the Admin Rights. I still have no access.

A quick update in regards to the Admin Rights on the eq2players.com guildsites. We now have 7 active individual acounts in this guild acording to the guildwindow ("U") in game. One char name of one acount is still not showing on eq2players, but he hasn't made it of the island yet due to time restrictions^^.

It is still not possible to gain Admin Rights to the guild site, add anything, make changes or something. Useless Cybertrash someone created who is possibly not there anymore and whoever has this now on his desk can **choose one** 1. not figure out what went wrong 2.has too much other work on his desk 3. spends his workhours playing eq2 4. gets violently sick, every time when looking at this mess.

Its kind of irritating - our guild has leveled well past 40 but i can't get in to update that information. can't do much of anything to it.

this seemed like such a wonderful feature and i was really excited to see it - and that excitment has turned to disgust.
