Every time I log into Everquest II and try to take the flying carpet from Sinking Sands to Butcherblock Mountains, it says 'Cannot load next zone exp03_rgn_butcherblock, please exit Everquest II and make sure the correct Game Options are selected'. I'm on the 2 month Living Legacy trial, and my account says I have access to all expansions. Help?

It seems the file for that zone is either missing or corrupted on your computer. Please run a full file scan from the patcher to ensure you have all of the zone files. You can find that option under the 'preferences' button on the launchpad.

Yes, you should have access to all of the expansion if you are back with the living legacy promo.

Are you running Windows Vista on this computer? That could be the reason the file isn't downloading.

I already ran a full file scan, no results. And I am running Windows Vista, yes.

You may want to run through the following steps to ensure EQ2 is compatible with Vista.

1. Right click on the program launch icon2. Left click on "Properties".3. In the new window that pops up click on the "Compatibility" tab.4. In the "Compatibility Mode" area check the box next to "Run this program in compatibility mode for:"5. In the drop down list make certain that "Windows XP (Service Pack 2)" is selected.6. Under "Privilege Level" make certain that the box next to "Run this program as administrator" is checked.7. Click on "Apply" then click on "Ok".8. Double click on the program launch icon.

Sometimes the Windows Vista security software can interfere with the patching progress of our games. In this situation, it might be Windows UAC (User Account Control) that is not allowing the game to patch correctly. For the purposes of security, you will only want this feature disabled for the purposes of patching and should re-enable it after the issue has been resolved.

Type msconfig in the search box on the Start Menu and press enter on your keyboard. 2. Click the tools tab in the System Configuration box. 3. Scroll down the list and highlight ‘Disable UAC' then click Launch. 4. Restart your computer. 5. Run the patcher. You can enable UAC by following the steps above but highlight ‘Enable UAC'

If this did not fix your issue, or have any further inquiries, please respond.

My UAC was already off, and running the program in compatibility mode did not fix the problem.

I have the exact same problem getting into BBM with the exp03_rgn_butcherblock not loading. Also on Living Legacy trial account. Not to mention crashing when trying to load anything outside the starting areas. Most of my characters are now unplayable becuase they've zoned into the pleaces that the game can't load.

The TSRs are in denial right now, but the game is broken... at least for the re-activated trial accounts. See the other threads in evidence. We can't be all having Firewall/Network/Vista (I have XP anyway) issues.

YOUR GAME IS *BROKEN*! GG

I am having the same problem trying to go from Gorwyn in TD to butcher block by griffon. once I get to the edge of the zone, the griffon carries on, and I get left floating in mid air with the message. "Unable to load your next zone (exp03_rgn_butcherblock)"

I have tried the fixes posted above and in other threads but no effect. I have had no other problems playing the game.

Tried toggling the optional downloads on/off and running full scans but hasn't done anything.

running on windows vista with a brand new install of EQ2 - collectors edition, desert of ro and Sky expansions were all installed from dvd. checked the station account info and shows Entitlement for all expansions under the Legacy offer.

running in Admin mode, winxp compatability mode.

I have played in other faydark zones, such as Kelethin when starting a new character

I checked the other Optional zones such as the splitpaw/blood packs and were able to access them.

Is there a location I can download the problem files or even re-download the expansion? or a way to force the client to repatch? I looked at the install directory but didn't see many files that were obviously relating to butcherblock. ran multiple full scans but no new files were downloaded.

Regards

Iolonus

I found the exp03_rgn_butcherblock file and removed it from the install directory. Patch client downloaded a new file but problems persist.

Checked for activated expansions, shows all expansions activated. should there be a option in the preferances on the patcher client to download expansions as well as the options for the splitpaw pack etc?
