I recently upgraded from an ATI X1900XT to a Geforce 8800Gt. The graphics feel alot smoother... however it is still stuttering quite a bit. It is very smooth inbetween the stutters. pressing F11 to watch FPS it seems like it goes from 60fps for a few seconds, then a bumpy patch of 5fps, then back to 60 for a bit.

My full system specs are

Video : 8800GT

Processor: AMD 64 X2 4200 (2.2GHZ)

Hardrives: 2 Seagate 250MB

Motherboard: MSI K9A

Memory: 3 GB Corsair XMS

Operating System is Windows XP SP2

All drivers and such are all updated. Thanks in advance for any tips

Hum, I have a similar configuration and the game is smooth on high quality with everything on. Try to turn on 'Reuse vertex buffers' in the graphical option, if it’s already on you may need to post you dxdiag info.

The reuse vertex buffers option should help with the stuttering. Let us know if there's any change.

After you try that, see if upgrading to XP SP3 helps as well. How much Ram do you have installed as well?

Thanks for the replies! I think that did help quite a bit. It seems to be much more stable now around 30 fps now at 1280X1024.

I'll try SP3

I have 3 gigabytes of ram. Only PC5400 though
