My pc is starting to play up - god knows why but it seems to take 3 or 4 goes before it actually starts up. Most of the time it starts powering up then cuts our unexpectedly. Given I don't really know one end of a screwdriver from another and I was thinking of upgrading anyway - the old girl is over 3 years old now - Im thinking of just taking the plunge and buying a new PC. Probably barking, but I just got a load of backdated overtime and havent had the time to spend it on anything else.Anyway, loads of good info here but - while I used to know my way around Pcs a little - if Im going to be honest, I probably now fall into the category of cardigan wearing foggie who turns up at PC world and asks the nice man what I should buy. In simple terms that a hungover simpleton who's recently been hit over the head with a large mallet can understand, what should I be looking for, both to play EQ2 and other, newer MMOs on the market - I know EQ2 is a bit weird and draws heavily on cpu not gpu; given I will no doubt move on to another newer mmo sooner or later, I'm looking for something that will do well on the new stuff too.Not looking for something out of area 51, just somethign decent that will last me another 3 years or so? I usually think in terms of chip (I gather quads bad but not quite sure what this means; its was all pentium pentium 5 or AMD last time I looked - went athlon), what graphics card I should look for (got an ATI something or other last time but every time I buy a new pc a new company seems to be on top), how much (and what sort of) ram. Oh and sound card. Not looking to annoy the neighbours, but people seem to really underrate top notch sound effects for immersion.Anyway, sorry if this prob duplicates a thousand other posts, but they were all in greek. If it helps, I mainly play MMos with a bit of strategy (the real sort, not all that RTS tosh) on the side. Haven't played a shootemup since doom if that helps set context. Thanks in advance for any adviceStra

Ed - should say Im prob looking to spend 1200- 1400 quid. Ie what's prob described as mid range. Not looking for the next cray supercomputer. As I wasn't kidding about turning up at pc world, that prob translates into about 1000 - 1200 mail order.
