My old lvl 41 Guardian is being reborn.

I currently like to group but spend most of my time in a duo with a Mystic so DPS is quite important.

He is a Dwarf, and I like the Dwarf with an axe look from an RP point of view.

He has 19 aa split between Strength and Crippliing.

He currently has a Ga'vins Pis Aller for two handed dps duo spec and a pretty lightweight one hander and half decent shield for in group.

He has the regen mastercrafted cloak for lvl 42 and my Necro recently looted the Master 1 lvl 43 version of Maddening Defense for him.

I am also nearly through Beriks and am very tempted to do EBBC and FBSS.

So here is the question - At Lvl 44 with FBSS and EBBC and Master 1 Maddening Defense and the Regen Cloak what should my (hopefully by then ) 20 odd aa's be respecced to, and what master choice at 44 should be made ??

AA in Str and Dual Wield Axes - with one axe and a shield for grouping

OR

AA in Slaughtering and using EBBC with the double attack - plus buy a 1H and shield for grouping

OR

AA in Int and then do I go 2H or Dual for DPS spec.

OR

AA in Sta and go Shield and 1H all the time.

Also What 1H/2H weapons or Axes would you advise to fill those gaps above and are there any other quests you would recomend for Guardians ??

Many Thanks

If your using a buckler then go with STA line for Buckler Reversal.

Ok cool thanks for that

Quite happy that there is only 1 set of gear required - bit disappointed that EBBC is going to be useless.

For clarification - is that any buckler or any shield ? Has anyone got any recommendations regarding the buckler or shield to use ?

and for final confirmation is this still better than dual wielding the new improved Mastercrafted Weapons ?

You may occasionly find a nice trinket to replace one of your gear items but overall the MC will take you up to Ruins of Kunark then you will get better quest rewards than the MC stuff.

You can duel wield but your role is a tank not mainly DPS. My guard is lvl 59 and he uses the blessed cobalt LS for the hate increaser, i added an adornment proc for extra damage.

EBBC will be needed when you start your epic weapon quest, so dont sell it off.

It doesn't have to be electrified... the standard bbc will suffice. Also do the screaming mace HQ as you will need that done for your epic quest. You will probably actually do more dps with a sword & buckler sta spec'd vs duel wield, but your best bet once you get some AA earned is to hail the respec NPC in your city's mage guild and obtain a free respec card. It has 5 charges, so try a few setups, parse, pay attention to things like your avoidance (look at the actual tooltip that displays base, block, and parry), hitpoints, mitigation, and dps. See what works best for you.For me the best setup is str/sta/int.
