Currently with the new promotion we have seen a number of issues with download time. This is only a temporary issue and should be resolved shortly. To help you download times make sure you have done the following.Open all ports that EQ2 uses.Make sure you have User Access Control (UAC) disabled or you have ran the game as an administrator.Optional content, make sure it is downloading in the background instead immediately. to do this you will want to do the following - Stop the download. - click onto PREFERENCES - change optional content to download while you play - click SAVE and then click DOWNLOAD, which is above the character select drop down menu.We are working on getting everyone faster downloads to get them in game. Thanks for all of your patience, and happy hunting!

how can you stop the download in the eq2launcher without closing it? I really don't want to have to wait for the optionals to finish before i can play.

You can press cancel, which is beneath the actual download bar, and above the PLAY button.

I set the downloads to go in the background. Exited Launcher. Rebooted, it rescanned. The upper of the two download bars filled. Now there is a another download (eta 38:23:20), just wondering but from what I got from your post one can download "Living Legacy" in the background while playing. So .. exactly what am I downloading and why can't it be downloaded in the background.I have all my ports open that eq2 needs and not blocked by firewall at all so does not seem like there is a true problem. Just wondering if you could maybe fit in a patch for your Launch Pad so that it shows a more detailed progress report, such as (XXMbs out of XXMBs) currently completed and, or give a general title to the information I'm downloading. All in all I used to play eq2 a while back and trying to begin playing again, which I have been unsuccessful in doing for the past couple days from this patching and the general annoyance of not knowing a real eta, aka mbs out of mbs, all in all it seems like a huge hassle to start playing a good game again. One other question, currently I just have Everquest 2 and EQ2: KoS, from what my disks say, is there any expansions or content I can buy from a retail store that would signifigantly reduce my download time.Well thanks for your time.Edit: Also. been searching forums assuming from what I've read also, no manual patch?

I got through it all, finally finished the full 10.6 gig install. Now when I open the launcher again, it starts the whole DL process over again... and ideas on what's going on?

In reverse order.NO, there is no manual download. If you are returning for the Living Legacy promotion, then you have already been granted every signle expansion and adventure pack we have released to date. You could purchase RoK from a retail outlet if download times are the biggest issue. That patcher idea is nice, I'll submit a feedback form on that. The Living Legacy is not an expansion or patch, it is the name of our summer promotion. The first part is getting previous customers to check out the game and expansions. Other promotions for living legacy will be arriving aimed at current customers. There is though, optional content to download. The optional content generally revolves around voiceovers and soundpacks. If you turn off the optional content download, you should see a vast improvement in download times. Everything else is core to the game, and needs to be downloaded.I hope this information helps

Question:My brother in law and I are both returning for the LL promo, we decided to do the download on just one computer and then transfer the folder over to save bandwidth and speed up the download. Neither of us had EQ2 installed when we started. He finished the download and is able to play, I copied, and it still says I need 3 more hours of downloading before I can play.I checked the files that are downloading on mine, and he doesn't have them. I went into preferences in the launchpad and removed all options, plus changed the option to download during play, just in case. However, nothing happened and I am still required to do the additional material before playing while he is not. Also tried full scan, still choses to download.Any ideas?

Every time I finish a 14 hour download, it some how "resets" and wants to download everything all over again. I never get to actually play because all it ever does it want to patch. Why does it want to download every time I try and run EQ2? I can get into LoN just fine, but EQ2 wants to patch. Help!

I've been trying to patch for 2 days now. It starts downloading and then stops cold. The download time starts creeping up. I left it trying to download all night the only thing that changed in the morning was the download time it went to 77 hours. Im stuck, any ideas would be helpfull. Thanks

I'm having the exact same problem as well - I do not remember, a month or so ago, this taking nearly as long to do on my laptop (rebuilt a desktop to be able to play with some sort of quality graphics settings) - I wait for about 4 hours or so for the download to complete, and when it claims it is finished, the "play" button does not light up; instead, it just seems to freeze up. I quit the launcher, and go back into it, and it wants to redownload the data again.Any tips on what to do? I just did the port information as well, so hopefully that will help something. I've also disabled all of the extra content to download while I play, but alas, I can't even get into the game on this computer Thank you for any help you guys can offer! Hopefully, it's just a minor issue
