Hello!

I just recently returned to the game and I am interested in defilers. Mostly because I want to try out the Sarnak. I have always loved defilers, I've had about 4 now. I love their theme and group play. Probably the funnnest I've ever had as a healer in a team, and I have a 52 inquisitor and 48 Warden (I love priests )

The downfall has always been my inability to solo effectivly on my defilers. I'm hoping I've just been doing it wrong on them. I want to be able to solo though so I can get the AAs from the low level and mid level quests. In the past my defilers never really did enough DPS to last longer than the mob's health and my mana bar, or it did just barely but wasn't really effective enough to solo. My other priests are battlepriests so I'm a bit spoiled by that as well.

Any tips or pointers would be greatly appreciated!

you can solo all through Timorous Deep lowbie/starting zones. all the mobs and quests are soloable and will get you to 20 easy did it all in one sit down of playtime. even some of the equipment will be better then some of the level 40 stuff I am getting out of CT and RE. I have had a pretty easy time soloing with my Defiler, been back to the game now for about 2.5-3 weeks and level 47 alot of which has been solo.
We are slow soloers, so if you want to solo it would be best to focus on things that can raise your dps. I would recommend doing a bit of harvesting for rares, and upgrading your main damage spells to adept 3. Also the INT aa line will give you an extra damage spell at a pretty low level. There is also the defiler decaying line. It bumps up dps for your most common damage spells, and at the end you get cannibalize, which gives you exceptional power management.

I soloed about 90% of RoK. It sucked, but can be done...

I put my first few AAs into AGI to get to 75% melee crits, got a good 2H staff and am now working on the INT line (just started). The melee crits help a lot to provide a good base level of damage on which to add DoTs and nukes.

So far for me soloing has been pretty easy. I am currently 48 with 54 AA's. I have been able to solo ^^^ green heroics. and white ^ normal mobs with little difficulty. Typically I burn through most of my mana with the heroics. and about 2 bubbles with the white ^ mobs. I startes spec'd down the str. line. and then worked down stam line including the final skill. Soloing has been pretty easy. what i do is load up the mobs with all my debuffs and dots and then just tank waiting for my rage to go off and they are typically dead, usually dont even need to ward. I only ward for the heroics.

It is alittle slower as the fights last longer, but usually dont have any down time if I stay away from the heroics as my mana is full usually by the time I finish the fight. I am using a 2hd spear atm but did just as well with shield and 1hd and that is what I use for the heroics. I think of all my deaths only 1-2 have been when I soloed usually due to adds. so soloing has been safe and steady. Its grouping that gets me killed....

My gear is great, nothing MC. some legendary loot, but also still using stuff from TD lowbie zones that have been way grey for some time. I do always try to keep my spells adept 1 or better though
