I really like the stamina line under my warrior achievements for my AA, but a 500 pound brute Ogre looks really funny with a little weak looking buckler. It would be nice to see some larger more fierce bucklers, or include other types of shields into that AA line. Heck some new shields and a complete shield revamp would be cool too

It has spikes on it, looks really nasty whenever our guild Zerker uses it in a shield slam.My fav buckler, tho, is the ship's wheel you can get in Timorous Deep. We call it the windup wheel...wind up the Zerk/Guard and let them fly into the mobs.

They messed up the shield selection for AA lines at the start. Bucklers are a light shield (pretty much a fist weapon actually) that gave rise to the name of swashbuckler in the first place, that should have been the one rogues had on their AA line. Leaving warriors with one of the beefier shields for their stamina line. Bit late to address it now though eh, with so many shields allocated stats appropriate for their place in things.

But yeah, that spiky mastercrafted Danak buckler is attractive. As is Virtues Guard, somewhat larger than traditional bucklers, with jutting spikes.

With the virtues guard, that whole idea is kind of out the window now since the protection is so high, but originally that was how it worked. If it had been roundshield required, warriors would have lost absolutely no uncontested avoidance by using this line instead of specing for a tower shield and would have gained a ton of dps/hate generation.

You are right though, the buckler was originally kind of an off hand fist/smash your teeth in weapon more than a primary means of blocking attacks. Blocking with a buckler seems more like a parry to me than actually throwing a shield up and absorbing the weapon strike on a giant block of wood/metal. But hey, they are what they are in this game.

In any case, it is a buckler, it's supposed to be small, though some of the new ones are pretty large. Virtues Guard is the size of a round shield, so are a few of the other bucklers. The one that drops from sleep is pretty large as well.

Iago

Bucklers are actually supposed to be attached AT THE WRIST to leave that hand FREE!!! In IRL anyway.

I totally agree, I mean my zerker looks very tough with his sword and armor but then you get that question, "Nice..nice, but where's his sheild?" you get frustrated lol

It looks weird imo if you see someone with a little round wooden buckler that looks as if it will break if an ogre sits on it instantly. As for RoK bucklers, the shipweel one is a buckler? I never knew that but probably because I haven't gone there in awhile.

Also can we get bucklers that are handcrafted/mastercrafted that also give str/sta? So far i only see wis/int all the time and cant get str/sta for my zerker.

Just let us have appearance slots for primary, secondary and maybe also distance.

Most of the epic weapons look like exaggerated plastic toys. "Unfortunately" those weapons are probably the best until you clear the hardest T9 (nine) raid zone.

Furthermore 90%+ of all weapons (such as cloths/armor) in the game are just filling compound that never ever anybody uses. They are just for the NPC, altars and transmuters.

And buckler-saucers just don't match heavy plate armor.

So we also could use good looking heritage- and other 'special' weapons (katanas).

Same limitations as for cloth/armor appearance: class and level. Plus: one-handed and shield require one-handed and shield (with buckler-tower and other way round being allowed; two weapons require two and two-handed requires two-handed.
