<p>I am an existing EQ2 customer who bought a new computer with Vista and I am trying to install EQ2 on it.  I have both the standard EQ2 box and the new RoK box which includes everything, so I just loaded the RoK disks.</p><p>After loading in the 3 disks and getting the screen to "register expansion"screen, I get an </p><p>"Status 404 error  /eq2/accounts/lp/en/Details.m     the requested resource is not available "</p><p>after hitting the "register expansion" button.</p><p>When I hit the download button, it downloads for a while and then stops with saying "cancelled" where "download" is supposed to be.</p><p>Pls help.</p><p>PS:  I tried searching on this thread, but did not find an answer.</p>

<p><strike>Vista... Are you attempting to install/run the app as Administrator?</strike></p><p>*edit: rereading FTW. <img src="http://forums.station.sony.com/eq2/images/smilies/499fd50bc713bfcdf2ab5a23c00c2d62.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" width="15" height="15" /> Try just clicking My Account at the top of the forum page. Login to your Station Account and register your expansion key. Then launch the game and see if it allows you to logon and patch. (assuming I read correctly and the game itself did successfully install from your RoK disks.)</p><p>/scurries off to get more coffee.</p>

<p>First... thanks for your quick reply...</p><p>Station is all setup since I can play my account just fine on my old computer.  What I want to do is use my new computer as a spare game machine, so I want EQ2 installed on that computer also.  I have done this before so I know you can install EQ2 on several machines as long as you had one key per account which I do.</p><p>So the disks and the key work fine on my old computer, but I get the error trying to install on my new computer.</p><p>Edit:  It may be that I don't have to register at all since my <u>account</u> is already keyed and resistered so maybe that is not the issue.  The problem my be that my download keeps getting "cancelled".</p>

I'd uninstall it completely on the new rig and download it from the start.  It would need a lot of patching anyway, so unless you're on dial-up it shouldn't add too much more.  Also, you don't have to register it, just log in and it'll do the rest.  I've got mine set up on both my pc's.

<p>Thanks blood for your suggestion.</p><p>Actually, I have loaded and unloaded the game several times already so it seems the problem is:</p><p>After loading in the 3 disks I log into my account, start the download, and after a bit it just stops saying "cancelled."  </p><p>Or-</p><p>After loading in the 3 disks I log in and try to register the expansion getting the error.</p><p>So, the problem is probably the "cancelled" coming up during downloading.....</p><p>Edit:  It is a Vista system, if that matters....</p>

If you PCs are networked, enable file sharing, and transfer the existing Everquest 2 Directory on over.If you do not have them networked, leave the install with the disks alone, and try this download of the launcher<a href="http://everquest2.station.sony.com/index.vm?reinstall=yes" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">http://everquest2.station.sony.com/...m?reinstall=yes</a>

Vista gets picky about this. Just right-click then select <b>Run As Administrator</b>. I believe that is a frequent culprit when the DL keeps cancelling.

It sounds like the Vista security features are blocking your game from updating.  Following the steps listed below should clear it up for you.1. Right click on the program launch icon2. Left click on "Properties".3. In the new window that pops up click on the "Compatibility" tab.4. In the "Compatibility Mode" area check the box next to "Run this program in compatibility mode for:"5. In the drop down list make certain that "Windows XP (Service Pack 2)" is selected.6. Under "Privilege Level" make certain that the box next to "Run this program as administrator" is checked.7. Click on "Apply" then click on "Ok".8. Double click on the program launch icon.Sometimes the Windows Vista security software can interfere with the patching progress of our games. In this situation, it might be Windows UAC (User Account Control) that is not allowing the game to patch correctly. For the purposes of security, you will only want this feature disabled for the purposes of patching and should re-enable it after the issue has been resolved. Type msconfig in the search box on the Start Menu and press enter on your keyboard. 2. Click the tools tab in the System Configuration box. 3. Scroll down the list and highlight ‘Disable UAC’ then click Launch. 4. Restart your computer. 5. Run the patcher.  You can enable UAC by following the steps above but highlight ‘Enable UAC’If this did not fix your issue, or have any further inquiries, please contact us again. Thanks
