Need Weapon Advice

<p>I'm an old skool Swashy, which means I'm still defiantly Str/Wis 1-hand fencing. The rest of my AAs are in AGI, up to Avast Ye! At 80th level, I'm using Anaphalaxis as my weapon.</p><p>However, it's sounding like all the Big Boy Swashies are DW'ing now & cranking out far better DPS. This bothers me, because I can't really find a good off-hand weapon to match with Anaph, & of course, people are telling me to get rid of Anaph & switch to something better. I've been told (<b>since I'm not a raider at all</b>) that the best choice for me would be to get my Fabled Epic, & Carotid Cutter in the off-hand. So, I'm working on getting those two weapons.</p><p>But that still leaves me with just Anaph until I can get them. I seem to do OK now (nobody complains about my DPS, even if it's not as high as it could be) but if I can do better, I'd like to. So, with all these things in mind, here's my questions.</p><p>A. IS THERE a good off-hand weapon to pair with Anaphalaxis?</p><p>B. IF NOT ... should I re-spec to DW, & if so, what weapons would you suggest I use, until I can upgrade? Please keep in mind that I loathe the idea of using axes & spears ... I'm a SWASHY, & SWASHY = rapiers, swords, & daggers!</p><p>I was using MC T7 kukris prior to getting Anaph, & they seemed to work fine. How badly (if at all) would a pair of Kukris degrade my DPS?</p><p>MTIA!</p>

At the moment I'm using <span class="postbody">Carotid Cutter and </span><span class="postbody">Anaphalaxis until I can kill the [Removed for Content] Pirate Jones and get my epic. But then I'm just a button masher and don't worry about timing my attacks to much.</span>

<p>Anapnylaxis is a nice weapon but has that funky delay of 4.5 secs which doesn't match well with most of the other weapons out there.   I've found that keeping the delays of my two weapons the same is a boost to my dps versus two weapons of different delays.  So what do I DW with Anaphylaxis?....well the only weapon Ive found that has the same delay (4.5 secs) is the Spellforged Skewer!  Nice damage spread (comparable to Anaph.)....and more importantly: a delay of 4.5 secs.   Well....of course.....now you have to go out and find a Skewer of your own...which is not easy.....it drops from the LU45 contested Domini mobs in the RoK (epic*4).   Sometimes you see the skewer on the broker (it is tradeable) but the price can make it a lil' tough to get!  Good luck!</p><p>((btw I was lucky to get my Skewer...I didnt go out with the intention of geting it...Thank You to a great PickupRaid....Really, I was/am focused more on Charm's Way....which I'm still am chasing!....sigh.....dam you to hell Pirate Jones.....but Ill skewer you yet!...not sure what eventually I will pair with Charm's Way, maybe Ill try fencing again.....only time will tell))</p>

As a non-raiding swashy who puts up pretty solid dps numbers. You really just need to put in the work to get Charm's Way and Carotidcutter. Even if Charm's is being elusive for you, Carotidcutter drops in one of the easiest instances in T8. Granted I had to go in there 30 times to get it, at least you have the off chance of winning a master spell as well. You can use carotid one handed as well. Good luck on Pirate Jones, we beat him pre nerf, but he is quite tough!! : )

<p>I just saw Spellforged Skewer on my server's broker today, & nearly choked ... very nice weapon, excellent for off-handing with Anaph ... 15p. I have just over 9 <img src="/smilies/9d71f0541cff0a302a0309c5079e8dee.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> So, off to farming I went.</p><p>I'm up to the Octupus step of the epic, & trying to run COA every day til CC drops ... but I still need something until then so I'll probly just save up until I can afford the Skewer. Thanx for the tips, all.</p>

<p>In your place i'd probably stick with Wis until you get the two fabled 4 seconds. What I ACTUALLY did was DW Charms Way and Soulfire Sabre until I got a raid weapon.</p><p>Current mastercrafteds with 5 second delays would be pretty slow dual wielded for the damage they do, in my opinion, and old 4 seconds are generally poor.</p>
