I can not wait around any longer for the possibility of a class revamp

I have played an SK from the earliest days and was among the first to reach 80.I have one more level 80 and 2 more 71+ characters and none gave me the satisfaction of playing the Shadowknight used to bring. Each of the other classes I play has their own minor issues but each finds a place among end game content. (Brigand, Mystic, Inquisitor)I have tried every conceivable way to make our class viable in the current game environment and I finally am throwing in the towel.

In the end I left not simply because our class has issues but because of the lack of acknowledgement by the development team that the issues exist. It should not be too much for a game community to receive a message of acknowledgement or a confirmation that their current design is as intended.

I hope for your sakes the dev team decides to revamp the class but they will not have my $30 each month any more.

Good luck and good bye.

Change some code for some increased spell damage? What's that, 5 minutes work? I have not decided whether to cancel my account, but I am leaning that way. SK was not my first toon, warlock was, but I fell in love with the SK after they changed the warlock to a AOE class. For me the game has lost total interest. My guild is disbanding, most nights I am on alone, and the end game stuff (if you are not a raider) is just so boring. I don't want to level an alt, but that is the only option I have now. With this class getting no love, I find myself going hours with my LFG up not getting a tell from anyone. I will keep trolling the boards for a while to see if the devs do anything, but otherwise, my new game is so much more fun.Good luck to all the SK community, wish you luck.

I was gonna reply with the "Can I have your stuff" standard witty remark, but then I remembered you were an SK and suffered from crappy itemization...

It's funny, last year during EoF a lot of games came out, and I picked up some of those games and only played them for a couple of hours making the purchase not really worth it (like Assassins creed, Halo 3), really I was having a lot of fun with my EQ2 SK, and couldn't make time for them. Now there are far more games that I skipped entirely like LOTRO and Mass Effect, I had EQ2 and that was taking up my time and that was good enough.

This year, I'm not having that fun anymore with my SK, I switched to guardian as a main, and after playing my SK for 3 years the guard really wasn't as fun, he's quite a bit more dull, and I just ended up logging him on to raid and that was about it. My SK I shelved totally, even as an instance tank they lack relative to other tank types, eg, my guard will pwn him on the parse.

So we fast forward to this year, and I have picked up more games and now I'm actually playing them, and low and behold I found some that I like more than EQ2 right now, so much so that I have also canceled my EQ2 accounts. I'm not saying the game is better then EQ2 and it's the game thats gonna outright replace it forever, maybe I'll get to the end content and find I don't like it, and I'll come back to EQ2. But what I am saying is last year I wouldn't even have bothered buying AoC, even if it was hearalded as the second coming of all video games, simply because I was happy and captivated by the EQ2 experience.

In conclusion when the customer (eg. me) finds that a vendor (eg. SOE) is no longer providing an enjoyable experience I will simply try out new experiences. If the vendor strives to keep the customer (eg. me) captivated, really there's no need to look elsewhere because my needs are being met. Wether the designers of this game believe the SK is balanced or not is irrelevant, it is my perception and the perception of most on this board that are in the RoK content (as this is where the issues occur), that the SK class is not balanced, seeing as we have the money that the developers want, I guess it means we're right because we are no longer captivated by your product.

It's sad really, my account age is 2 days out from the maximum age you can have, and I guess I won't make it to my 5 year vetran reward.

Well said Toe, it is sad to see good players depart for valid reasons.

I'm sad to see you go Toes. Everquest 2 is going to be missing a very good player, and good community person.

(BTW folks IMHO Toes is one of the best Shadowknights I have ever witnessed in the game, he worked his butt off to tank raid mobs and make the top 5 on the T7 raid parses when I had the privilege to play with him on Oasis server...he always had to work twice as hard than the other plate tank classes, but he always made the best of a broken class IMHO...)

Let me know what server you are on in AOC...if they ignore this broken class for much longer, I will try to look you up soon bro...all the best to you...

Lol, the irony is that an SK with nice raid gear can raid. With instance gear t8 raids are just not accessible- the first two bosses of SoH are about the only practical targets (and responsible for the two pieces of nice raid gear I do own). I'm also taking a break until the next tier bump- I figure with t9 MC gear I should be able to raid t8 content. I wonder if they'll fix crusader itemization by then?

Probably, tradeskill Dev is the only one who cares/does anything to make this game more fun for all players, and not just their favorite classes. (lol dark elf assassins!)

I hate to see some of what I view as great sk's with all the great ingame experience leave the game and these forums. Countless post of great info you all have contributed to my gaming experience as an sk and also helped me with my other classes as well. Currently I haven't been playing my sk, zerker, or bruiser and I myself have been taking some time off. I am not starting another mmo game and do not have the desire to atm.

Again I hate to see this all taking place, but for what it is worth thank you every one for your thoughts and time that has helped me through the game.

I've gotten to the point where I'm pretty much logging in my 80 SK for crafting writs. The last time I logged it in for any sort of adventure play was to knock out the recent Bertoxx/Rodect event and if I'm logged into an alt and I see someone having a hard time finding a tank for an instance. Logging in with the intent to play my SK doesn't really happen anymore.

It truly saddens me to see my brothers in arms leaving the game because their class is no longer fun to play. I remember the great exodus of my class after LU 13 when they gimped us beyond recognition. I nearly quit then as well. I love the guardian class and have always played it as my main since launch. But when my class had no purpose and was not needed in the game, what was the point to keep on?

I only stayed because of my guild and I am glad that I did.

I wish I could offer some encouraging words to you guys, and I completely understand the frustration of silent devs on the issues with the class. Guardians experienced the same thing post LU13 when we had threads with hundreds of posts trying to get the devs to say anything at all to relieve the frustration. A simple, "Hey, we realize you are not happy and we are looking at it." would at least be some acknowledgement. I know if I had an unhappy client and simply ignored their requests for information on what I would do to make them happy, even if the answer was, "I can't fix it right now." I would not be in business very long.

It isn't like the servers are teeming with people right now as more and more are leaving for other games, pursuits.

Anyway, I hope that you guys get some kind of feedback from the devs on your situation soon.

Yeah, I lost motivation to play SK lately as well for few months and found that playing bruiser is more fun. Also I found time to play other MMOs to kill time as well..

However, I won't shelf my SK and plan to play during next expansion but just don't play much from now til expansion tho.

One thing I could tell is that SK surely needs a revamp to make it exciting once again.. I'll just wait it out til it becomes fun once again hopefully heh.

One biggest gripe I have with EQ2 is horrible lack of dev involvement. That is why I am soo hooked with Gemstone 4 as Kenjutsu (my name). It got best dev/GM + player relationship I ever seen in my entire MMO life. When I checked here, wow big difference betwee this and Gemstone 4 for Dev+Player relationship and the level of communication.
