Hey guys;

I have a good computer. Not great... good. EQ2 is a 4 year old program... I should be able to run it perfectly.

Here is my hardware:

AMD Athlon 64x2 4800+

4GB of DDR800

BFG NVIDIA 8800GTS 512 OC (G92)

250GB Raptor SATA300

22" Widescreen LCD (1680x1050 native)

Even on BALANCED settings I still only get about 30 FPS. I am really at a loss here. Any ideas?

As in other threads EQ2 only uses 1 core so you can have 2x 3x or 100x and it does not matter... EQ2 uses one core.Add to this the fact that many graphics functions are programed to use that one core instead of your video card and you have a 4+ year old program that needs some love 30fps is about right. EQ2 does not use most advanced video card functions so a $100 video card is about the same as a $500 video card.I, and many many others, are in the very same boat. Spend $1000 and see little, if any, boost in EQ2.-JB
