Getting invalid password on login?Getting dumped to desktop without error messages as your zone was being loaded?Sony "may" be blocking your IP address. To fix this turn off your modem for a few minutes or release your IP (in modem setup section) and gain a new IP.See if you can log in again?Apparently Sony put some sort of chat filter on in the game and "any" text that is suspect of buying or selling gold is having their IP blocked. What makes this even worse is that many people do not have fixed IP's and they may be blocking an IP that someone else got blocked and now you are using.Calling tech support does nothing as they will only say it's your fault. In my case, for example, I was getting spammed by the gold farmers and instead of ignoring it I was sending "bite me" type replies. I can only guess that Sony thinks I was talking to them about gold or whatnot. GrrrrrrrNow this does not mean that everyone who cannot connect is blocked. It does mean that if you can change your IP and then get in that you were being blocked. I was. Sony will not tell me why.In a few days the IP I am using now will be blocked again. I have no idea how to get my name off this "we'll take your $$$ but not let you play list"I have no idea what to do now but I know many others are on this same list and are having the same issues that I am so I wanted to share what I have learned. To the support reps here... help me! I love EQ2 but this is getting silly stupid!-JB

If this is indeed the case, the whole of Singapore will be banned as we are behind a transparent proxy. Resetting my modem does nothing...

Unless you have a dedicated IP you can just shut the modem down, wait 10 minutes, start the modem up and you have a brand new IP address, this also has the added advantage in the simple fact it resets any error conditions that are present on your modem that maybe preventing you from logging on.

This is the same thing that happened a few months ago. When I released my IP and got a new IP I was able to log back in. It's the IP that was being blocked. Not ports, firewalls or anything else. New IP, I get in. This is why the TSR's here are asking for you to send in a PM. I'm "guessing" that they are manually unblocking the IP that you are using.Sounds like an overzealous filter at SOE is blocking more people than it should. Now I should be fine for awhile then they will block my new IP if it goes according to pattern.-JB
