About 1/2 of the in game links for any type of item are not bringing up the "examine" window when clicked. Thought maybe it was a UI issue but tried both Default UI, as well as profit. some links work, some don't, either way its extremely frustrating, and if anyone has any input, I'd be willing to try it.

Yeah I have this annoying issue as well. SO far I have not been able to figure it out. I've tried a fresh install of the game as well. I will update you if I find anything else out.

thought maybe a full file scan would help, no go on that one though. Good to know I'm not the only one with this issue. Although doesn't seem to be a terribly common problem, I'll post here as well if I can find the fix.

I've never experienced this issue myself. Since Trevor uses a 3rd party UI and I do not, its possible that may be causing the problem if you're both experiencing it. I've included the steps to revert to the standard UI below, but that may not be worth doing if you're more attached to your UI than your links. It's also possible that updating your 3rd party UI may correct the issue. You may want to delete the following files and folders:cache foldereq2_recent.inieq2_default.iniEverQuest2.exee q2.iniAs well as the character specific files, these will appear as such:Servername_CharacterName_EQ2_uisettings.iniSt ationname_characters.iniTo do this, please follow these directions: 1. First look for your EverQuest II directory. You can find the directory in the default directory:2. Click on MY COMPUTERCRIVEPROGRAM FILESSONYEVERQUEST II3. Next look for any files explained above and delete them. 4. Afterwards, please start EverQuest II to have these files re-downloaded by the patcher.

I had already tried that, and trevor also explained that he did a full reinstall to no avail. The UI is not the issue.. .as i was using default until i had the problem... i installed profit UI to see if that would potentially fix it... .any other suggestions are worth a shot though.

Still no solution to the issue? I've been having this bug for a week now, random chance if a link will work or not it seems. Vista 64bit OS.

Please don't rez ancient threads. The issue affecting in-game links now is different from anything happening 2 years ago. Start a new post rather than updating a very old one.

Barx is correct, this one is old and smelly and there have been changes since this post began. To avoid confusion, I am locking it down.
