Ok, I just changed from 2 gigs of dual channel Corsair memory to 4gig (2x2gig sticks) of dual channel Corsair XMS2 DHX DDR2 800. I keep reading that Vista should read this memory, at least up to 3.25 Ghz, but it is not. It is only showing 2.75 Gigs of memory. I have been doing a lot of reading through the forums and I can't seem to find the answer I need. Anyone have any idea why this is happening. Now I will say I did not notice any stuttering in Qeynos Harbor like I have been seeing, so the extra little bit did help that out, but I am feeling a little jipped right now

Also, I am drawing a blank. I am running Vista Home Premium 32bit right now. In the past I was always told you had to install the oldes OS first if one was going to dual boot. Do I have to do that, or can I get away with adding XP now as a second OS?

Vista 32bit actually supports 4GB. However, the actual addressable amount will change based on the system. This "missing" memory is allocated to various things like the Bios and other devices on the system. There should be a 1 to 1 amount based on the size of your video card's memory as well. This document from HP kind of explains it betterBetter .. here is Microsoft explaining it

For dual boot look here

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/919529/en-us

Yes it does say you have to install the older OS first

Or you can do the right thing.

http://www.microsoft.com/windowsvis...ia/default.mspx

Microsoft will send you 64 bit media for a nominal charge (usually around 10 bucks) and you can do a re-install to 64 bit and use all of the memory you purchased.

EQ2 runs perfectly fine on Vista 64.

I didn't realize I could get a 64bit version of my OS for only $10.00. I hope it is as painless as a lot of people are making out on the forums. I have been reading the forums and it seems like a lot of people are using it.

Had a major issue with a set of NIC cards that where built into my motherboard, ended up having to disable them and get a addon NIC card - they still have not gotten stable drivers for the built in NIC cards yet. Creative Labs is another one to pay close attention to for stable 64 bit drivers
