I am looking to gather information on the issues with the Bazaar server. I have heard a few different issues. If you are experiencing problems on the bazaar server, specifically related to zoning, please post the following information.Time Zone: OS: RAM:Video Card and Driver version:ISP: TraceRt:Pathping:Thanks! How to perform a trace route and pathpingOpen up the Start menu, choose the Run command, type "command" in the space provided, then hit Enter. If you're using Win2k type "cmd" instead of command. For Vista, "type command" at the search bar on the bottom of the Start Menu. The MS-DOS Prompt window should appear with the prompt, "C:windowsdesktop". For Win98/ME or Win2K/XP/Vista, type the following three DOS commands, one at a time, hitting Enter between each command, and waiting for the prompt to reappear: ipconfig /all > c:eq2info.txt For those indicating an issue with the French server (Storms), please include the following traceroute as connectivity to it varies from the US based servers/datacenters: tracert thebazaar.everquest2.com >> c:eq2info.txt Please run these commands if you are using Win2k/XP/Vista (Only for Win2k/XP) pathping thebazaar.everquest2.com >> c:eq2info.txt (This may take a few minutes to complete) Finally, upon completion of these commands, you will find a file labeled "eq2info.txt" on the root level of your C: drive. You can use the Find command from the Start menu to locate it. Attach the newly generated file (c:eq2info.txt) to an e-mail and reply back to us.

Hey i think i can figure out how to do this. before i do, should i do it when the zoning issue crops up...or will it work just me standing in town?Does this check our connection to the server? or the path between it? I am just kind of curious as to what the aim of the test is. I was going to post test result in that other thread, but when i was looking through the report I saw it had my computer name, IP, and i just didnt want to post anything personal (i dont know what is and what isnt personal info with all those ##s).

You can send your report in a PM, like I did. Or edit out your computer name and ip address if you want to post in the other thread. I'd think it'd be more helpful to send the PM to Trevor, since he's actively looking into it, and you don't have to worry about it whats in the report then.

Either way you'd like, PM is fine, as well as posting and editing out your IP. As long as you don't post your station name I won't have an instant answer, I will just be looking for similarities. Obviously as stated in the other thread it was not a known issue with tech support as nobody was calling in on it, and only a few random reports on the forums here. Normally when something on a server breaks, we get flooded with calls. Thanks for all of the input so far.

Once again, thanks for your efforts, TrevorG! I "very helpfully" posted a link to this thread in one of the ones that was going over in the server forums, so maybe some of those folks will send info too. There's also people saying its occurring on Vox too, and some speculation that it may be related to Livegamer because its happening on both. Gnobrin posted in the server forums that it was being looked into; not sure if he means you or if there are network people investigating also.

Hmmmm. Not sure of the significance, but here's an interesting tidbit. I launched the game and it hung at the "receiving zone info" stage. I let it sit there for a few minutes, then hit CTRL-ALT-DEL to call up the Task Manager. The game client process was eating 85-95% CPU cycles. About 15 seconds after I opened the Task Manager, the client "unstuck," CPU usage dropped, and the game moved on.I have no idea why stuck programs do this, but I have seen cases where opening the Task Manager breaks some logjam.

Task manager in windows with multi cores and fudged multicore divide 100% by the number of cores, in my case 25% is the theoretical limit per core where it's going 100%. So the only time a program goes above 25% in my machine is when it's multithreaded. Any time I open up task manager everquest 2 is always solidly locked on 25%. I just know it is utterly ridiculous that the game should lock up on loading when i'm running on a gigabit network with a 15 megabit connection. Load time should be nearly nonexistent.

It's pretty simple....Scrap Live Gamer as the problems were started after launch of Live Gamer....Only 2 servers having the login and zoning issues are both the only Live Gamer servers in the bunch. And the 100% CPU usage is utter garbage as well. Please SOE, fix this.Fyn

Why on earth would you not want the game to run full speed? It better be using 100% of teh system or you'll lose framerate. The real issue is getting the game to use 100% of more then one core. I have another core and two virtual cores with leftover execuable logic going to waste that could give my framerate a boost.

I just wanted to throw in that I play on Vox Server and am having these same issues (going on how many weeks now? /sigh). So far, Tech Support has provided no real answers or help other than saying certain ports might be blocked. In addition to the zoning problem (Receiving Zone Info is NOT my friend these days), I am also having trouble listing any items on the broker. I try to drop a totem into my sales crate and it doesn't appear. I try to add another and I get the message "You are currently engaged in a consignment transaction. Please try again." or something along those lines. If I log, I lose the item I dropped into the box, but if I wait, I wait forever. When I log out and try to come back in, it will only show a few of my characters on the select screen and underneath it always says Vox server is Down. I already provided all this information and went through the hassle of disconnecting my router and my firewall and checking ports and everything, but there don't seem to be any answers even after all of this time. Very frustrating. Seems a funny coincidence that both servers having this problem are Live Gamer related servers. It takes a lot of the fun out of the game when almost your entire guild crashes trying to get into a raid zone or you just want to list a few items on the broker and it takes 30 minutes to log in and out of the game. I hope a fix is coming soon.

You are not alone in your problems with the game. SOE's list of usual suspects are not the problem here. The solution must come from SOE since this is not a user created problem.

We have gotten a few words of encouragement from various SOE tech support, etc personell that this has been acknowleded and is being worked on. Hopefully they will find a solutions soon.

This leaves your computers wide open for attacks should someone happen upon your IP and want to get into your computer. I had a 30 minute discussion with a tech at SOE trying to explain this to him and either he was extremely uneducated about routers and was trying to BS his way through it and didn't want to show his ignorance or something, but I had just talked with the manufacturer to double check what I thought was going on was actually going on. The tech in question was Gary S.

Here is the port information for EQ2. EverQuest II LaunchPad and Patch Servers A TCP connection is initiated to patch.station.sony.com at port 7000. A UDP connection is initiated to port range 3016-3021 and 9700-9703. Looks Like the problem is getting worse. I was raiding last night in Tomb Of Thuuga to get updates for alts and we wiped I revived and got the zone in bug lasted 6.5 minutes when I got back to the zone my UI was all messed up. I've never had a problem rezzing within the zone until last night. I finished the zone but it was a real pain in the [Removed for Content]. My biggest problem is it takes long enough to form a raid party but with all the zone in bugs it makes it much tougher.
Also sent my PM with these test issues.

Though, I have heard SoE trying to blame it on the customer's end (Routers, Cable Company's, ISP's, Weak PC's, etc). Tell me this, if there are, say, 450 ppl on the bazaar (for example)... 80% of those ppl are having the EXACT same issue, all of which started at GU 45, how in the world is it on the customers end? LOL, did ALL of those ppl's routers start malfunctioning at the same exact time?? How about everyone suddenly doesn't have a strong enough PC, starting at GU 45? Wow, all those PC's JUST got outdated on the same exact day!

Seriously, I just got a brand new PC about 2 weeks ago, AND a new router....My old PC/router combo had the same exact issues as my NEW PC/router, which is a much stronger PC than the old one. This just baffles me that it's taken 3+ weeks to still be "Working on this issue"....

Probably a goodbye to EQ2 from 1000's of customers going over to AoC, inculding myself.

I did not deal with Gary, but I did get responses from TSR Edward R. and TSR Phillip R. Their responses were pretty much verbatim to what other people have posted, including (not surprisingly) the post a few above mine from Trevor. "Sony Online Entertainment does not support the use of firewalls and proxies, including cable/DSL NAT routers, campus and office networks, or any type of Internet connection sharing services. " blah blah blah, ad nauseum. I realized after this latest response that I have been playing the part of a dancing monkey to the Copy and Paste level of customer service by jumping through their "please run these tests, disconnect your router and disrupt your entire household's internet access while climbing behind a pile of cables and underneath your desk and attach these files to your service ticket so that we might delay answering you or helping you in any real way" hoop. The bottom line for me is that I have played (this game on the same internet connection with a router (so that more than one person in my house can be online like every other household in America) for the past three + years, and now suddenly, I am having tons of trouble with the game. I take offense to the answer that Sony does not support the use of routers and therefore it's my problem. I certainly do not feel like a valued customer, and I do not feel as though my concerns have been addressed in any substantial way. so I basically just told them not to respond as I have lost all faith in their ability to help.Perhaps if I played on a higher population server, I would be treated differently, but I can't be sure. Again, I do play on Vox mostly with only one character on Bazaar, but both servers are having the same issues from what I understand. After three years of almost nightly gameplay, I have not logged in for more than a couple of minutes in the past few weeks out of frustration. It makes me very sad because I feel as though my servers are pretty much being left to die a slow and painful death. Oh well, perhaps it is time to move on to the next game, but finding an overall game as great as EQ2 is a difficult task. I just am so tired of putting up with the poor customer service and connection issues. This is not meant to be a threat that I'm leaving or anything in poor taste, just an update on my personal situation, which I have a feeling is echoed in the experiences of others.

OK lets get a couple of issues handled here. The port information I linked above is for Everquest 2. The reason it was posted, was not to help your connection issues with the Bazaar/Vox, but to make sure that information about opening all of your ports for Everquest2 did not get passed around as something you should do to fix this issue. If you would like to refute my facts, please show me where I am wrong rather then asking me to research more. The issue with the Bazaar/Vox servers are being worked on by the Developers of Everqest2. It is not an issue that can be resolved by calling technical support. I thought I had made that clear in another post. I guess I did not, and I apologize for not making it more clear. I have passed information around to all of the techs via email, and will do so again on the current issues with Vox/Bazaar. I had hoped that if people responded to only this thread, and to PM myself, we could bypass the issues that are popping up now.We do want all of you in game and happy. We do not do things to upset customers intentionally and then laugh manically as people try to get to raid zones and then fall through the world tumbling endlessly head over heels. Please continue to post in this thread about the issues you are having on bazaar, and PM me an information I have asked for at the beginning of this thread. Thanks for your patience.

Since it was requested that we keep this in this thread I'm re-posting:

I'm still not able to log into the Bazaar server on one of my accounts.

Still hanging at "Receiving zone info" and no ammount of waiting so far has gotten me in (I've waited up to 2 hours on one attempt today). Also still occasionally getting "There was an error that prohibited the server from letting you play." when I try and log in certain (Bazaar) characters on that account.

I will say that on the account where I had been experienceing intermittent zoning lag, that seems to be cleared up. I've also not experienced any broker issues on my other accounts.

Ok logged on fine, used broker, slight delay in 2nd transaction but less then a min. Camped to another toon and got the dreaded server down and only 4 toons listed. Deleted cach and did a full file scan and now everything seems to be ok. have zoned and also switched between numerous toons. Will post if there are any further issues. Thanks for getting this taken care of. Oh haven't logged into 2nd account will check that now.

That may be caused by a separate issue.

checked out 2nd account. Everything seems ok, for the lunch hour. Tonight will be the real test, when everyone else is on and the server is busier.

Hello Zliks,I tried to log in to your account and experienced the same problem you've been seeing. I'm going to try a few different things from my end and see if I can get it fixed for you. I'll let you know as soon as I have more information.

I am currently in the 6th minute of the receiving zone info screen. (on Bazaar). I"m not usre how to determine what's our issue and what's this more general zoning issue. THe only thing I know is it's the same thing I'd been experiencing since the last GU. It's the thing I'd hoped o have fixed when it went down this AM

This morning after the fix, i had zero login issues, zoning was back to 15-20sec times.

This afternoon, I log back in and it downloads the lon updates..couldn't log in to one character and zoning varried from 30sec to 4 min

Just want to point out that the issues discussed in this thread and in the Bazaar forums are still ongoing. Any ETA on the fix?

Funny. I wasn't haveing banking/broker log prior to **fix** and now am. Stuff finally will show up, but it's a tad nervewracking.

I am also still having issues. Zoning can be 5-10 mins every 2-3 zones, broker transactions with delayed response and today when camping to another character I got the dreaded server is down and 4 toons in character select screen. A full file scan got me back into game on the character I was switching to but this is should not be on going still. Most of my guildies are also still having issues.

After staying away from The Bazaar for over a week, I tried running there after the latest hotfix. The client hung once at the "connecting to zone server" point. I quit and restarted, and discovered that I had actually zoned, since I came back in at my destination. This has been the only such incident in two days of regular play, so that's an improvement.
