I recently finished the HQ for the Raincaller, then used my 'muter and tinker to craft an adornment for it... and was taken aback a bit when I got the message "Rain Caller cannot be modified." No big deal, it's still a nice bow. However I don't know how easy it will be to sell the adornment because anybody else in the same tier will probably be sporting a raincaller as well.Anyhoo...lesson learned...So I was just curious if anybody could list other bows that cannot be modified so I don't make the same mistake in the future.

Items with the "ornate" tag cannot be adorned. However i've heared that +dps adornment on ranged weapons will also affect melee-weapons, so there are maybe also other melee classes interestet in buying the adornment.

Just like haste adorns, that haste all attacks. So, a +dps adorn on your bow affects your DPS mod, which in turn affects all of your auto-attacks. Just like the +dps adorn on your neck affects ranged and melee auto-attack as well.I was in a group with a Coercer the other night that said their DPS buff did not work on ranged...lol.All DPS buffs work on all auto-attacks (ranged and melee).

The biggest problem at the moment for my swash and bruiser is, that statwise the best throwing weapons are "treasured", and i really can't bring myself to putting a fabled adornment on a treasured item

You put your adorn on the best peice of gear you have for that slot. If a treasured item is not going to be upgraded for that slot, then put it on the treasured item.

I am sorry that this has surprised you. It's just one of those things that veteran players have an advantage newer players. I always tell anyone in my guild - DO RESEARCH before spending money on adornments!! This happens with melee weapons as well, tanks don't know what skills they should be boosting, and then buy teh wrong adorn because they don't understand EQ2 mechanics.

Now that it's done, though, you have a great opportunity! Yes! Put that DPS adorn on the

Ghostly Bow of Bylze (level 59)

and you will be just fine right up til you need your EPIC at level 80! You can solo with this bow, you just need to use more fettering poisons. Mobs will die quicker than with Raincaller, anyway.

Personal skill is the most important thing you can equip yourself with as a ranger!

Canul

<Renegades> AB

I am just saying that in the course of levelling, you can easily afford to ADORN the Bylze. Now, if i had the money to make a T8 Fabled Adorn, I would not waste it on any treasured or legendary bow from T8 when the Epic Eagle Talon is just around the corner. Rather your first T8 fabled adorn should be on your neck item (thugga necklace). Sure if you raid and have fabled adorns out the wazoo, maybe you can afford that kind of silliness, but in my opinion you can be a very effective ranger with ADORNED Bylze up to 80.

Don't compare one bow to the other.. compare an adorned bylze with +8DPS to and un-adorned T8 Bow.

T8 is just about grinding up on solo content anyways, and Bylze does just fine for most applications.

my two cp...

Canul
