Greetings,It seems to be saving the locations on both my account and Trevor's account. First I'd recommend deleting the generic files for EQ2.cache foldereq2_recent.inieq2_default.iniEverQuest2.exee q2.iniAs well as the character specific files, these will appear as such:Servername_CharacterName_EQ2_uisettings.iniSt ationname_characters.iniTo do this, please follow these directions: 1. First look for your EverQuest II directory. You can find the directory in the default directory:2. Click on MY COMPUTERCRIVEPROGRAM FILESSONYEVERQUEST II3. Next look for any files explained above and delete them. 4. Afterwards, please start EverQuest II to have these files re-downloaded by the patcher. If you are running Vista then you may need to take the following steps as well since Vista may be blocking the settings file from updating to the new version.1. Right click on the program launch icon2. Left click on "Properties".3. In the new window that pops up click on the "Compatibility" tab.4. In the "Compatibility Mode" area check the box next to "Run this program in compatibility mode for:"5. In the drop down list make certain that "Windows XP (Service Pack 2)" is selected.6. Under "Privilege Level" make certain that the box next to "Run this program as administrator" is checked.7. Click on "Apply" then click on "Ok".8. Double click on the program launch icon.Sometimes the Windows Vista security software can interfere with the patching progress of our games. In this situation, it might be Windows UAC (User Account Control) that is not allowing the game to patch correctly. For the purposes of security, you will only want this feature disabled for the purposes of patching and should re-enable it after the issue has been resolved. Type msconfig in the search box on the Start Menu and press enter on your keyboard. 2. Click the tools tab in the System Configuration box. 3. Scroll down the list and highlight ‘Disable UAC’ then click Launch. 4. Restart your computer. 5. Run the patcher. You can enable UAC by following the steps above but highlight ‘Enable UAC’If this did not fix your issue, or have any further inquiries, please contact us again.

Well I finally was able to try this...And though I hate having to reset all my game settings, it did fix the bank not saving box locations problem.Even if it was a bit of a pain...

So does that mean SOE wont bother making a fix that doesn't require me to set up UI's from scratch for my 13 chars?

And is there a reason that SOE havn't implemented some way to set a default size for boxes?

I haven't tried this fix because my files are on different drives, but I do have the same problem. Perhaps SOE should hotfix this.

I finally found an acceptable solution:

Rename "Servername_CharacterName_EQ2_uisettings.ini" to something like "Servername_CharacterNameBACKUP_EQ2_uisettings.ini"

Start EQ2 and log onto the character. It seems that when you load the UI that were used for that character it can shift the position of the boxes a bit but if one reposition them ones more they stay in place too. I just did that and logged out and back in and they were as they should.

The good thing about this way of doing it is that u get all your chatchannels, hotbars and buttons the same way they were before meaning u dont have to spend time putting all that back together.

I have tried the fix fposted by TSR-DanielH and it has worked. Yes, a pain deleting everything and then setting up my UI from scratch but worth it. Was very relieved that my friends list didn't get deleted. This would have been a real pain since there is no way to import it between alts. I use the default UI and then adjust it to suit me.

Thanks for the fix - so to speak!

The boxes which "forget" their position and size now always default back to however/wherever they were when moved around "with no UI settings". Granted this isn't a problem immediately but if you get bigger boxes and need to move those forgetful ones around you'll have to go through this process again. I'll try this weekend doing the SoE fix of deleting all those files and see whether that cures it completely... if it does it'll be worth doing for me.

Thanks again to El Zava - you've made my new bank slots useable for now

I am taking back what I said previously about TSR-DanielH's fix working. It worked for about twenty four hours and now has reverted back to being bugged.

When I tried it the first time, I logged out of the game completely but didn't turn off my pc and all was fine. After I turned off my pc and relogged the next day, the problem was back. So, I went through the process again last night and turned off the pc. I logged in this morning only to find that the boxes have moved again.

For me the bank boxes which revert to the default size (I have them on 34), move position and become unlocked are nine and ten.

I am not prepared to go through the process again without any hope that it work. So, I await further instructions. Please don't make them too difficult! I know how the mouse works and the keyboard and can follow simple instructions - but there it ends!

Thanks

I deleted my cache folder for another issue and when I got back into the game my bank boxes stayed in place again. So perhaps that is all that is needed.

I still can't get banks 9-12 to save size & location for anything. I've tried all but completely redoing my UI which I don't really want to do because as someone said it is time consuming and that means doing more tweaks for at least 5 other characters.

I have been using my laptop instead of the desktop (no probs) but am back on the desktop today and am a bit fed up! My desktop won't save slots 9-12, my laptop won't save any of the new ones.. This is torture. not to mention every so often I try to fix it and try something else, or a diff bag mod, nothing works. I know in the old days I used a stay put bag mod but I don't know if there's a working one now.

Suddenly toons with quivers have issues too. Mine seem to want the quiver to be at the top of the screen instead of the lower RH corner where I place them
