First, I have found that the description on the Riluss Elite Targ is a bit misleading. It states a proc off CA, however, I have found that it will also proc off abilities from our spells or AA abilities book that have a melee weapon animation. Siphon Strike, Crimson Circle and <strike>Doom Rays*</strike> from our spell book. Not a big deal, but it is nice to get the Firesong proc off Siphon Strike, as I use that a lot.

Secondly, I have a Master Woodworker so tend to play around with wood weapons people may have overlooked. Right now I am using a 5 sec 1-h Imbued Mahogany Quarterstaff, 50agi 50int. In my current gear the extra agi has pushed me up to 31% avoidance in Offensive stance, while my Int is 997. It seems to be working well as a soloists weapon and may be worth a look.

*incorrect on my part, it is a CA, combo blonde and senior moment.

Both state that they are melee attacks in the description.

And not stating anything wrong, just pointing out a nice little bonus to the Firesong proc, and I found it interesting that spells with a melee animation rather than cast were considered CAs by the proc. CA's with a cast are NOT considered CAs by the proc, despite several of them being listed in the knowledge book as CAs.

Similarly, Abilities from the Abilities tab proc if they involve a melee weapon. Legionnaires Smite will not.

So, seems the proc simply works off a Melee based Art, regardless of category or damage type. Not off Combat Arts alone. Personally, I think its a good thing.

Karma is being so arrogant as to assume I didn't look at the knowledge book, and ending up more wrong then you assumed I was. GG Shalla

I've just looked closer into them and they are indeed listed as spells, however the initial damage seems to be a CA. Just look at the damage with and without offense stance and you will see that the +int will not impact the first part of the damage but the second. Since procs normally only work on the initial hit of multi-attacks i think thats the reason.

[edit]Also +spelldamage doesn't work at all on these spells, also i think i remember that reaver has always proced on misery but not on circle[edit]
