WOW Did The Same Thing With New Patch. [Archive]

I have been experiencing the same problems as everyone else since the last patch on Everquest2. How unique that the other game I play, World of Warcraft, also experienced the same problems with their new patch. However, WOW is not owning up to it and I don't if EQ2 will either. They just keep putting the blame on our computers, modem or virus protection system....blah, blah, blah....etc.... You know, logic dictates that whey you are having fun playing EQ2 with not problems and then they give you a patch and then right after that patch you can't login into server etc....logic dictates that it is THE NEW PATCH!!! Sherlock!!!!!.

If its our faults, then a LOT of people need to get new computers and isp's lol. Everyone i have talked to or mentioned this to on the bazaar server has had this same problem: Every other time if not everytime you zone, or try to /camp <toon name>, it either takes 5 minutes, then locks up, or boots u to char select and shows you 4 characters, and tells you the server is locked. I have also noticed that since the most recent patch on eq1, several people have complained about noticable load time differences. But it must be our computers, or our modems, or our isp's, because it couldnt possibly be the patch, and if it was wouldnt it affect a lot of people? oh wait, it is....'

I've seen EQ2 on the bazaar lock up between zones. I never had a problem before until the patch. I'm hoping SOE gets their act together and fixes the problem. I'd hate to have to quit eq2 just because I can't get into the game and play it reliably.

Sherlock!!!!!. </blockquote>Played both over this past weekend, raiding in EQ2 and just leveling my hunter in wow and did not expierence any issues, can you be a little more specific about the problem you are having in eq2?

I briefly played my Bazaar character just last night and he zoned fine several times. Its not the game if others can zone or log out ok. It sounds like either your computer or your connection to the server, either your ISP or one of the connections down the line from your's.

The problem is intermittent and it usually happens before its connecting to the new zone. It's more then likely a timeout issue from a hiccup on either side of the connection. It would be nice though if SOE would program EQ2 to handle it with a little grace though. At the very least pop me back into the zone I'm still connected to and ask me to try again. It just seems sloppy imo.The problem isn't that bad though, you just have to close and reopen the client. It is just annoying to have to do it even if it is once in a blue moon.Regarding WoW, I have never had any connection problems with it. It runs smooth as silk, I just wish there was a little more to the game, especially when it comes to customization.

I use the same computer for both and same router, drivers, etc. I and EVERYONE I know has been having issues with Bazaar. NO ONE I know, including me, has this issue on Runnyeye. I suppose this could be a really odd coincidence, but really folks, this looks like some kind of stealth change to Bazaar that is causing all the problems there, probably related to our rather odd status with Livegamer.On Saturday we could not find New Tunaria, on Sunday we recieved a five minute system notice that Greater Faydark was being "bounced" because of unspecified "zoning issues" and New Tunaria magically reappeared.

When did the Bezaar become a exchange server? I recently returned and found that it was a exchange server. I play on it since its where I played when EQ2 was released. Is Runnyeye a exchange server too? If not, are the other exchange servers haveing the same problems as The Bazaar? I think the issue is NOT gamewide (and this is why people and sony speculate its on our end). I believe the zoning and loss of character issues are *specific server related*.Bazaar confirmed to have issue. Ill be in a raid and well all hit a portal to go somewhere else. Good thing we got vent going because --->>**EVERYONE**<<--- who takes the portal gets locked and we can still communicate. So either a server issue, or something happens where there are brief moments Sony's login server (maybe not login, but something) connection where if you try to zone your done. Its definately not a user issueOn a side note....never had a problem on Kithikor. Please post what servers you have had problems on and which you have not.

If thats the case I may just reroll a new character on another server, it's not like I need the exchange functions. I dislike the idea of paying rl money for in game items as a shortcut to playing the game.

You are correct. I moved all my toons and their goodies over from Everfrost when Station Exchange was created. There are two SE servers, Bazaar (PvE) and Vox (PvP). There used to be another PvE server, but it was merged at some point with Bazaar.I also play on Runnyeye because if you play on an American server and a foriegn server you get twice the toon allottment. And if you want another set you can play on Test. That makes a total of three times the number of toons available. I believe that the problems we are seeing on Bazaar are related to some sort of unpublicized patch aimed at SE servers. This is confirmed for me when I can play on the other servers without a problem using the exact same computer, etc.

I'd like to get some more information about this issue. It seems that most of the people reporting it in this thread are only seeing it on the bazaar server. Here's my results for the tests. I also tossed in tests to unrest.everquest2.com, since I actually played on that server over the weekend with no issues. I thought that its also worth noting that this seems to be happening on Bazaar and Vox, and Livegamer rolled out their update on the same date as the LU. Would it be helpful to run these commands when you are frozen at the "receiving zone info" screen, since the problem is sporadic and random?

Any word on fixing this problem? I'm still having zoning problems! Fix it or give us free transfers out.I tried to zone, got stuck in the usual spot so I closed EQ2. When I reopened it it won't even login to play now. It kicks me back to character select and crashes if i click play. This is unacceptable!Edit:After not being able to login and getting kicked to character select and then being able to login but stuck on receiving zone ifo only to have to zone again to get into the area I needed to be and stuck in zone limbo a second time, when I finally got where I needed to be EverQuest 2 lost all of my tool bars.
