View Full Version : Why does my Berserker kick like a Monk??

This is kind of nit-picky but to me it's fairly annoying. When you play a Berserker you start out with the 'Kick' ability and it's a pretty straight forward stomp animation which seems to fit the class perfectly. As you get upgrades to the Kick line it turns into a spinning dragon kick maneuver of some sort which would look perfectly fine when executed by a Monk but on my Barbarian Berserker it looks quite out of character.I'm not sure if other classes have this misplaced animation, for all I know they might. I don't think Guardians should be doing spinning kung fu kicks either to be honest.Any chance we can have our higher level kicks given the original kick animation again? It's much much more in character for our class. Let Monks and Bruisers do flying kicks.. let us have our 'stomps' back..

<p>Yeah, I used to kinda enjoy it on mine. One of those "hehe, isn't it silly" kinda things. But comedy like that suffers from the law of diminishing returns and is now just plain silly. </p><p>The fighter stomp would obviously be a better match eh. </p><p>An extra oddity in the monk, with a pair of kick attacks, only one of which gets played out with a kick animation. </p>

<p>The better question is why do monks kick like berzerkers?</p><p>Seriously, our MOST POWERFUL kick is just a simple Stomp animation, regardless of what weapon type you're using to modify the animations.</p><p>What about in EQlive? our most powerful kick attack was a flying kick! We also had roundhouse kicks and (when using the old models), a punch to the crotch area.</p>

Monks use the stomp animation? That's so weird.. they should really change this.

<p>It's called copy and paste. A lazy way to animate spells and combat arts that has been the bane of EQ2 since the start. There are only a few base animations that get used over and over again. You think you have it bad? Other than their kick, shield bash and one of the melee hits, all the Paladin melee hits use the same /exact/ animation.</p><p>Then there are spells... lol @ Ice Comet being a snowball of doom.</p>

I miss them taking away the little lunging stomp animation that was tied in to one of the debuffs for every scout. It was unique, well done, and now gone. Replaced with a crappy weapon swing.Why?
