View Full Version : My armor graphic bugs, new and old!

Heya,

Please take a look at the pictures below. These are some graphic bugs I have noticed. Some spawned as recently as the last patch, while others have been in game since the class armor was put in EoF instances.

This is me, or was me until recently. Amazing, I know.. dangerously handsome, yet surprisingly durable and rugged.. ..and hats off to the folks who colored this set. I love it, might never take it out of my appearence slots. This is all McCabe's armor except the hood, which is the Nemesis Hood from Labs.

Now, I have given up the crusade to allow the set shoulder piece to show the set forearm piece (that matches the rest of the set ) some time ago. It's been that way since EoF for what ever reason, but since I have your attention I'll mention it one more time. I have yet to ever get a response on this.

However.. My REAL reason for posting today is because of the following pictures and the changes I have seen recently to an otherwise kick a rse set.

Notice the change to the flap on the pants? For some reason there is extra thread around the jagged points that just looks horrible and can't possibly be intended. It's almost as if some transparent flag assigned to that section was turned off, or something. I'm not going to pretend I know anything about how the armor is implemented. I just know I don't like it. Please also take notice of the vastly oversized hood I'm sporting now. That's the same one as in the previous pics above. More on that below..

With the last patch, this thing almost doubled in size. It no longer fits at all. If I run, ride a mount, swim, or even turn my head at a passing npc the above happens. Sometimes it's even much worse than that. Compare it to the first two pics I posted. It's to the point now wear I just want to hide the sucker. Can this please be reverted back to the way it was before the last GU a few days ago?

Well, that's it for now. I thank you for taking the time to look at this. I look forward to any type of response from a Dev and hope these can be fixed soon.

- Creg

It appears that the last time you took your hood in to the cleaners, they must have gotten it swapped with a Ratonga's hood. The Ratonga's usually wear much larger hoods (ear room) then most races.

Although it appears you actually have a very vintage Rongta style hood, long ago they would actually have small (well sorta small) holes in the hoods for their ears to stick through. This allowed for better hearing, but made them more noticable (most trees don't wear Mickey Mouse ears), nd did nothing to prevent scrapes, etc to the tender organs in questions.

Hopefully the Ratonga who has your hood is also trying to get their hood back from said cleaner's shop.

^Totally off-topic, but that is the most awesome thing I've read today.Be sure ya bug and feedback. It took along time to fix Kerra gals' dresses/gi's. (oh, and not to mention the squished-head effect , but that was on the old horses)

In the first set of pictures, you're not wearing a cloak but in the second you are. Have you tried looking while not wearing a cloak or were you wearing the cloak to give a better constrast for the back flap issue? I totally agree, though, the burlap around the "flaps" is atrocious. At first I wondered if the hood was a SOGA vs originals issue but the eyebrow piercing confirms original model in both images.

My Swashy's AQ set works the same way. I believe it's because the graphic used for the gloves is the cloth graphic with chain textures. I don't believe any of the cloth style gloves allow the bracer to show.

Thanks for the replies!

Half the time a ratonga is to blame if something goes missing in South Freeport and I do live right next to Temple Street.. The burlap is there with, or without the cloak. You are correct about not being SOGA models, I can't stand those in my personal opinion. It just looks like the over all hood size is a lot bigger and no longer moves with my head. It juts out from my shoulders and cuts into my cloak more too.

The warg rearing animation is so bad now, my whole head pops out of the back of the hood and then the front. heh.

The gloves and bracers both show with any shoulder item I substitute for McCabe's. McCabe's shoulders won't allow any bracer to show no matter what you have on your hands. Even going gloveless won't allow you to see the bracers if McCabe's is in the shoulder slot.

Yup, I stand corrected. It is the arms on my Swashy set as well. Just chalk my previous reply as the ramblings of a sleepy woman who should have been in bed instead of posting. ;P

Thanks for the input, Mos! I've forwarded the issue to the art team, in case this isn't an already known issue. I do know there were past actions taken to help gameplay, but why these issues here have cropped up (and since I am not part of the art team) I can't say for sure why they're plaguing you, now.

When I hear more about this, I'll let you know!

~Gnobrin!

Ok, I've been told that the hood issues for some of the races (it wasn't happening to all races, only a rare few) is in the process of being corrected but the issue of the pant-flap needs to get reviewed (images of old-school pajamas with the buttoned-up rear suddenly come to mind, for some reason). If I hear more about it, I'll fill ya' in!

EDIT: It's all going to be fixed, but not until the next update (next month). It was a minor issue that thankfully was very easily fixed.

~Gnobrin!

Woohoo! That's great news! Thank you very much Gnobrin!

[edit: I don't mean to sound nitpicky, Gnobrin, as you've helped a great deal, but did they mention anything about why the McCabe's shoulders do not allow the forearm slot to be visable? It just seems silly to me because the forearms have a graphic on them that matches the rest of the set, but you can't see them while wearing the rest of the set. Thanks again for your help, Sir!! ]

Glad to hear the cleaners were able to straighten out the problem with mixing your and the Tongas clothing. I'm sure you both look much better now.

(( glad to hear that stuff got fixed Looks like the hood has some skinning problems and/or is simply scaled too large for your race/class choice. The texture on the flap thing yeah, looks just like a mis-aligned texture that wasn't supposed to look that way in the first place Simple photoshop fix hehe. The bracers not showing on your set, likely just a coding bug for that item specifically, but I've noticed Large gloves and/or gauntlets with Long wrist and fore-arm-covering extensions (Like Gauntlets have) seem to toggle the bracer-mesh to "off"This could be because many of the animations require mobility and movement to the glove-mesh and it would clip unrealistically inside the bracer, making it look bad, so they likely toggled off the bracer graphic when a long-glove or gauntlet is in use. (but as youve said, apparently Mccabes shoulders are just bugged outright since they dont show with no gloves ---
