Artisan essentials volume !?

I'm in the starter area for freeport and I can purchase "Artisan Essentials Volume 2" from the merchant in the tradeskill area.  Why is there no artisan essentials volume 1 in that area?   Or did I miss it somewhere?  I'm wanting to practice my crafting before I leave the starter area.<h1></h1>

I think you already get the artisan essentials vol 1 from the tradeskill tutorial, though I'm not sure if Freeport employs such tutorial..

Thanks, but I'm wondering about before you actually get to freeport proper, when you are in the starter area called Outpost of the Overlord, I wasn't clear in the first post as I couldn't remember the name of the area. <img src="/smilies/69934afc394145350659cd7add244ca9.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />

I don't think there is any way to get it there. My impression is that those newbie islands seems like they hadn't been touched in a long time...

You won't do any crafting until you actually reach your home city proper and head in to one of the tradeskill instances.
