Ok it is been a long time since I have played my ranger and was running around Sinking Sands this morning and I looked at my equipment and seen that I am still using the bow that came from the storm hold quest back when I was like lvl 28 lol. What bow would you recommend? Once I get home I will log on the broker and see what is available.

Thanks

I cannot remember any bows that were quest rewards that were better than what you could find on the broker until Raincaller at level 57. Then again it has been a while since I was level 47.

If you have buying power, you might want "Longarm" , I believe its level 40 , and from DFC.Otherwise, MasterCrafted till 57's RainCaller.

I"m hoping to see how well I do in Deathfist citadal with it.

I also vote Longarm. I used it a good amount.

Thanks for the replies everyone! I logged in my ranger for the first time in prolly three months to play him and all I can say is he is playing much much better than before for some reason. Not sure if I was more focused on my approach/playstyle this morning or if rangers got some luv somewhere but anyway he seems to play a great deal better than before.

Later all...thanks again!

I've used both bows mentioned, as well as am woodworker, so have the Ironwood as well. It's only a marginal improvement over the last one I used (Longarm?) There's also the Gnomish Mechanized bow (level 51?) which you can get from an easy quest in Steamfont, but it's not really an improvement over Longarm either.

So basically only 2 bows needed to get you from late 20's to late 50's. It's gotten really boring without even the possibility of a primary weapon upgrade for so long. :/ So I'm playing another game for awhile.

I haven't reached that level in my Woodworking almost there and want to know if it is worth using the Ironwood for or saving that for my up coming Carpenter.

I definitely think the Ironwood bow is an upgrade compared to Longarm. I used Longarm from 39 to 51, and I'll continue to hold onto it to chase down runners (in pvp). Longarm has the range, the +2 ranged, and the lower delay, but the Ironwood bow has better stats overall (+19 str and sta I think) and hits harder.
