View Full Version : Downloading Everquest II online not working.

I needed to reload Everquest II and didnt have any disk.I got the digital download. So I went to http://everquest2.station.sony.com/ . I went to Get the Game/ Reinstall the game.I tried various times and got the same error. It would stop before finishing the update on the launcher.Out of desperation I tried downloading Get the game/Download free trial. It seem's to be updating now.Ive at least made it past the launcher were reinstall the game would stop.Ill know in 40 min if it installs the whole thing back.

So in short could you fix Reinstall the game.So you can download the game.Like you can with the Free trial.Thank you in advance.

I was able to download the game at http://everquest2.station.sony.com/...m?reinstall=yes just now. Maybe you have something blocking it or need to power cycle your modem/router.I hope to see you in game :p

Do you have any particular firewalls or download managers running?

Shouldnt be.It seems to download just fine off of the Trial of the Fae.Its at 34% on the updater.I tried it on my laptop also and same thing and its on another network.Though they both are Vista.

Slyg,The error you're receiving in that screenshot is usually caused by vista blocking the launchpad update. Following the steps below should correct the issue.1. Right click on the program launch icon2. Left click on "Properties".3. In the new window that pops up click on the "Compatibility" tab.4. In the "Compatibility Mode" area check the box next to "Run this program in compatibility mode for:"5. In the drop down list make certain that "Windows XP (Service Pack 2)" is selected.6. Under "Privilege Level" make certain that the box next to "Run this program as administrator" is checked.7. Click on "Apply" then click on "Ok".8. Double click on the program launch icon.Sometimes the Windows Vista security software can interfere with the patching progress of our games. In this situation, it might be Windows UAC (User Account Control) that is not allowing the game to patch correctly. For the purposes of security, you will only want this feature disabled for the purposes of patching and should re-enable it after the issue has been resolved. Type msconfig in the search box on the Start Menu and press enter on your keyboard. 2. Click the tools tab in the System Configuration box. 3. Scroll down the list and highlight ‘Disable UAC’ then click Launch. 4. Restart your computer. 5. Run the patcher. You can enable UAC by following the steps above but highlight ‘Enable UAC’If this did not fix your issue, or have any further inquiries, please contact us again.

Since you are using Vista, have you disabled UAC or allowed EQ2 to run as an admin? Here is a great post on that.
